I really liked this! It was very well thought out and put together. I enjoyed the simplicity of it. Also very matter of fact and to the point. Overall really well done.

Well you have this going in the right direction. Very interesting twist. Bow what ? The painting leads to a an old mystery, perhaps a hidden treasure? Good one Barb

The tension in this scene is terrific. You create a lot of obstacles for your main character, which is gold in any novel. I love how the action stirs up right away rather than belaboring with too much exposition. You have a deft hand at storytelling and I am looking forward to reading more of your work.

I like the story, but because this is my first reading of your work, and I don't know the background, and am unfamiliar with the story line, it was a little hard to follow --- through no fault of your own though... you have developed quite a host of characters and how they are all interconnected -- and that just takes time and familiarity to truly appreciate the interaction. What really peaked my interest though, which I thought was clever, imaginative and interesting, was the role that the 'gold overlay that looks like mosaic' is intricate to the story line, and solving the mystery... that has me intrigued, and I am interested to continue with your story, to see where this goes...

Good morning, Barbara

Enjoyed the continuation. A virtual six. The dialogue and character interactions as I've come to expect were spot on. I don't know if Shana's wanting to meet with Kuznetsov would be a good idea. Liked how you involved the FBI and there no nonsense approach to Shana's problem (situation). One has a sense of something negative will happen within the next four post to Anderson and his team and Shanna.

Take care and stay safe,

Ray

My goodness, Kuznetsov is a busy beaver. He must be involved in any kind of crime imaginable. If Shana is willing to give up the painting, that makes me wonder why he is still threatening her. Maybe he thinks she has some secret knowledge about the painting, as he doesn't seem the art lover type. I'm thinking that Drew has maybe been too protective of Shana. The visit from the FBI indicates that they are taking Kunetsov very seriously. Funny bit with the reference to the gecko. It adds to the characterization. judi

"Of course. It's called 'Winter-Traum' and the artist is Bruno Schmidt. He painted it in 1914. He used ornamental gold leaf as a flat two-dimensional perspective reminiscent of Byzantine mosaics. I'm not sure that's of any help." Your writing is sharp as a tack, always very involving and gripping and filled with a confidence from great knowledge. I love the way you weave your knowledge skillfully into your writes. Amazing as always Barbara. Well done love and regards Meia x

Hi, Barbara,

I found this chapter to be especially interesting and well-written. You wove the details about the case deftly and allowed not only the FBI, but the reader to understand more about the case.

So - the gold leaf in the painting may hold the answers?

Thank you for sharing. I bet you are excited to meet your new kids, huh?

The FBI has a habit of getting things done and the Hell with how they do it. This is very well written with a smooth flow of words, making for a very good read.
