An intricate proposition about prepositions, which most definitely upstages the story about Peter Piper and his propensity for picking pickled peppers. An entertaining poem!

Just reading this tongue twister had my brain in fits. No way I could read it outloud.

What do we have here, folks? An educated man's game of painful paralytic parsing...what? Did you say parsley? I dare say, way above my prepositional propensity!

Good Gracious!!! I can't even read that poem in my mind without tripping over all those long 'p' words! If this doesn't win the contest, I don"t know what will!
Blessings, Therese

You lost me half way through and I have no idea what much of it means, but I think it's a delightful tongue twister. How did you come up with so many words starting with the letter P? It seems like a winning entry to me..best of luck.

Thank you, you are the first one to ask, how. The words were all found in just a few pages in the Oxford American Dictionary & Thesaurus, Second Edition. I did take one definition from a Goggle search, persiflage, I liked the Google version better - "hissing and booing at the villain," than the milder one in the dictionary. Each phrase contains good but stilted English. I wanted to start each line with an "In" first syllable but had to settle with most of them that way. It took three intense hours to put it in a Beta format and two days to make it ready to print. You should have heard me say it the first time in front of an audience, and with my decided Texas drawl. Who'd a thunk English was so much fun?

I like it, but it is wanting for some formatting. LOL. See what I did there?
Seriously, it's kinda funny, kinda poignant, and GREAT on language/linguistics. Just needs some proper stanzification . . . Yes I made that word up. Keep working, it's great!

Thank you very much. As difficult as the English language is, it is a lot of fun to play with. Better than Legos.

Lol. Really well done one with so many p-words so it's more than alliterative - it fits the tongue twister category. But even more so, the English language with all its phrasal verbs where meaning change by using the same verb with a different preposition truly makes the language perplexing!
