Bravo! Yes, if only everyone would take the time to understand the transpontine view and walk the other's shoes. I can see the etymology knowing that 'pont' is French for bridge.

It's good it is not a trampoline. Lol. The might go too high and fall off of the bridge. Lol. I had no clue what the word meant. But I am starting to notice tells in the poem that mirrors things down. Good job on this. I will try to become a detective next time. We will see how I do. Hopeless probably. Thank you for sharing

You should enjoy today's offering then, Pam. I walked across a bridge once that was a bit less sturdy than the one pictured, it felt very much like a trampoline! Much appreciated - Craig

What an upbeat poem you have penned. It is true that by shutting yourself away life can become "drab and mean". Your words are so meaningful and flow so smoothly from beginning to end. And I think it takes extra talent to compose in rhymes. Excellent. Blessings to you, Linda

Thanks so much, Linda for the wonderfully kind comments. Respectfully, I have to disagree a little - I find writing a poem without rhyme considerably harder -- hence, I don't so it very often. Much appreciated, Craig

Excellent and inspiring poem, Craig. We all would do well to take a peek in on the other side at least once and day and then run like hell when you find out you've landed up in some island of hungry cannibals who've already taken down the bridge and now you're trapped over there. Yikes!

Great job and still another six months to go. :)

A very well-written poem about inviting others from the other side to come to us is all right when we know they are not going to destroy our side with drugs, pedophelia, and make our lives and properties worthless because they have nothing to offer to make things better on my side and they come here ILLEGALLY.

Perhaps you're right, Sandra. Far better to come in and take over by force, as has been the case with pretty much every nation descended from the British Empire. Most countries -- the US, Britain, Australia, and I dare guess South Africa as well, have an ample supply of home grown pedophiles and drug addicts. They have little to fear from refugees that they don't already have in abundance.

So proud of you for keeping up the momentum on this project of yours :) I failed with mine. I posted two poems a day until I got so sick. I'll continue soon, but I'm still not back up to normal speed. I am trying to keep up with my goodreads challenge to read 50 books in 2018. This is the halfway point and I'm at 24 / 50. Here's hoping the second half of the year will bring success in our projects.

Hi, Craig,

Congratulations on meeting your half-way mark. I think I've learned so much from the words and poetic forms you've used to present them.

I especially enjoyed this one because it seems that at this time in our history, so many people are simply standing on 'their side,' and refusing to see the point of view of those standing across the bridge.

I know I'm guilty of that, so...

We're all guilty of it, Patty. Some more than others. Thanks so much for the kind words. I've got further than I thought I would for most of the 6 months lol. Cheers, Craig

Prefect picture selection for an excellently well written poem that is very interesting the other side of the bridge. The word of the day is interesting. The reader must follow your work to see when you make it to the other side.

You've expressed some very true sentiments here, Craig. One has to venture out of one's home (and sometimes out of one's comfort zone) in order to experience grand things in life. Thanks for teaching me yet another new word. :-)

Hi Craig, great poem with good incorporation of the new word of the day. Excellent message as well. I agree that greatness lies in diversity. A lesson well worth heading for any nation.

Thanks very much for the thoughtful comments, Pam. Yes, it seems that quite a few nations are heading backwards in this regard, mine included. Cheers, Craig
