Wow this has to be the most unusual word yet and you've created a great Acrostic from it.Though I must say I much prefer typing on the computer to the old typewriter days, mistakes are much easier to correct now.
cheers,
valda

Me too, Valda. I'm certain if I'd had to use a typewriter more than occasionally, it wouldn't have been much fun. Still, I find it hard to fathom that there will be generations to come who will never get to use one, or perhaps even set eyes on one. Many thanks, Craig

Hi Craig. I think it is a qwirky word. My husband is with you all the way. He would like to go back in time and prevent the computer from being invented. He hats modern technology. Nice job. Thank you for sharing

If the computer had never been invented, I would have been out of work most of my life (or, in retrospect, maybe doing something more fun). Thanks for reviewing :) Craig

I love this acrostic contest entry :) Great subject, excellent meter, excellent rhymes. You have stepped up to the plate with darn near perfection. Thanks for showing how to pronounce the word. Best wishes in the contest.

Thanks so much for the lovely comments and the stellar rating, Joy. Your kindness has brightened my day (not that it was bad, but now it's even better). Thanks for the good wishes, too! Craig

Love this, Craig. That old QWERTY keyboard presentation seriously should be updated to DVORAK, yes? But then how would you write a perfectly metred and rhymed acrostic for this here site contest. Oh never mind, I know you'd figure out a way.

Par excellence my friend and best wishes to you in the contest. :)

Gloria

I guess we could just all dictate our poetic masterpieces to Siri or Alexa - even easier! Many thanks for the lovely comments and the good wishes, Gloria. Most appreciated, as always - Craig

ROFL at ME - gosh I'm great! (Hahahahaha!)

This 'sing-song' is meter that's very delightful,
but don't disuse penmanship, please - that's just frightful!
A bit like my image each day in the morning -
a haggard old hag that no one is adorning
with crown for the scraggly wisps of my hair.
(Oh, go ahead- comment - I double-dog dare...!)

(Actually - your poetry is great - not me. I'm entertained, edumacated or inspired every time. Sometimes all three at once, which can be a little overwhelming, so cut it out.)

(*grin*) My last six, and it's only SUNDAY???

Haha, you are way too kind, Dawn. No, hang on, let me retract that... you may NOT have those shiny stars back... you're just exactly kind enough ;-)

As for commenting on a female's appearance - either good or bad - do you think I'm insane??? ;-)

    Wait... don't answer that.

Thank you once again for brightening my day :)

Qwertyuiop..who knew ?
This reminds me of my son in law ...a police man who pulled over a speeder. Her name was
ABCDE....He asked her to pronounce it...ab said dee
I agree the type writer is so much cuter...but nothing is better than the fountain pen
God bless loved it

I see what you did there! (Filing that one away in my list of dad jokes).

Fountain pens are the invention of the devil, and I'm sure that any left-hander old enough to have had an ink well in their school desk would agree with me!

Many thanks for the great comments, Jenny - Craig

Hi, Craig,

Both you and Helen have given me these great words today. I really like qwertyuiop. I can remember the days of learning to type by touch and it seems like those letters were drilled into my brain.

I made my children learn to type on an electric typewriter I had in the house. I wanted them to know the constraints of the old keyboards. My son attributes his speed on the computer keyboard to my insistence he learns on the typewriter. He doesn't have to press so precisely and therefore can fly.

Using the unique word in an Acrostic was great. The 'Q' is always a challenge,

~patty~

I pride myself on managing around 50 wpm "hunt-and-peck". I was offered a typing course in my first job, and turned it down. I'm so mad at myself for not taking up the offer. My other half can manage about 120 wpm with 98% accuracy - in full nails!

    Thanks for the wonderful review.

Well done giving us a history lesson and the definition of qwertyuiop. Once upon a time, there was a small effort to try to switch to Dvorak but it never took off.

Well this is a new one on me. I never knew it was meant to be a word. I did use a standard typewriter and electric typewriter before the computer. This is a fun poem.

Keep writing or typing.

Joan

Say Amen to the Royal typewriter and its magic clicks. Nothing like pulling the lever to make a return. This is a fun poem and great, good poem. Fun stuff... yours, diana
