This is a very sad and honest tribute to your dad, though he is no longer on Earth.
Father's Day and Mother's Day can have these wistful moments. It makes it easier once you're married and can get a Father's Day card for your husband and can get a Mother's Day card from your husband and children.

Keep writing

Joan

This is a lovely poem and I like the image you've chosen to illustrate it. Sometimes the silence is louder than anything. You've described the feeling well. Nicely done. Marilyn

    Thank you, Marilyn, dear.

What do you suggest to improve the poem given you rated it with four stars?
reply by BeasPeas on 22-Jun-2018
Thank you so much for calling it to my attention, Nan. The four stars is a total hitting of the wrong button. I will immediately change my rating to the 5 it deserves and the one that should have been on your piece in the first place.

Hello Poetic Friend,
If truth be told, I am certain your father received your message...
A beautiful and poignant well-crafted poem paying tribute to your father. I appreciate the visual and emotive imagery that your poem relates to me.
Thank you for sharing!
Original and moving...

Good job Poetic Friend with your somber poem. Your words create a great message. I believe your father & brother received your heat=felt message. I understands your sadness & longing on Father's Day. Take care. Jan

Hi there, this is such a sad poem where you look back and remember your father with love and sadness. Memories are going through your mind and those you send to him. What I read and sense is that your brother's passing is somewhat intertwined in your fond memories. All the best. Ulla:)))

Yes, Ulla. I lost both my father and brother. I heavily think about both of them on Father's Day. Thank you for the review. I hope all is well.

A very touching and moving poem about your father who has 'graduated'. I can hear and feel your sadness and your heart ache in the words that are printed on this page... each word, contains a memory, a moment that was lost, and yet relived time and time again... to refresh and relish what was, and what hopefully, will be again in the afterlife. Your phrasing of "blushing, boundless sky
to relay my greeting
by thought and spirit," was so poignant and one that I could relate to... nature is always comforting and a solace, and what better friend to trust to convey your heart'smessage to your father... and to send your thoughts and spirit of love up to the heavens... your father hears you, and is smiling at how talented and moved he is by your poem... and replaying your dad's last message over and over again, to briefly capture those moments sharing life together, hit my heart like a brick... I felt its impact to my core... I would do the exact same thing, if I had a message of my dads to listen to... your last line sums up the experience of grieving, and yet remembering and celebrating your dad's life "...Today is the day
when silent moments sting..." A memorable, and moving poem -- touched my essence and core... Exceptional poem/tribute for your father...

My Father has been gone since '87 but I know he is in a better place and I know he knows I love and miss him. I love your poem because it is so human to want to be near the one we love and your poem covers all bases. Well done Nan. Nancy

A very well-written poem for a father that is not here anymore to be greeted and embraced, but on fathers day you silently send him a card to let him know he is still in your heart.
