No lie I have tears in my eyes and that's not good cuz I work in 20 minutes. It's hard to lose a pet at any age and just because you are older doesn't mean the pain is any less.

I am honored by your exceptional rating and heartfelt review.
I am pleased that my offering resonated with you, but I am sorry about the tears! It is very hard to lose a pet...
Thank you again!

Beautiful dialogue. Sometimes things are just so beautiful when left to the simplest ways of telling, especially when the explaining need not be more than the beauty of being sentimental and caring.
Bravo.
Loved reading this.
Have a beautiful day.

Hello Friend,
I am so pleased but simple offering resonated with you. The conversation is as I remember it between my son and me following the death of our beloved Golden Retriever, Gus...
Thank you for your excellent rating and complimentary review!

Wonderful, loving, patient and honest dialogue as it should be between parent and child. Such innocence from son and understanding from mother. Sweet/Jennifer

One of the things a good parent must do is comfort a grieving child on such occasions. Not everyone can find the right words to say, but you give a good example here. What a parent says in this case WILL be remembered, and likely passed on in similar circumstance decades later, so is important. Superb, and aptly illustrated.

Hello Diane,
This is a fine piece of dialogue writing and should do well in the contest.
The interplay of mother and son reads smoothly and feels quite natural.
The key element is the honesty and trust they share.
Very nicely done.
Best wishes in the contest
Robert

This is a great entry for the contest. It is a very warm story, very touching, and it is the type of stuff everyone loves to read. It sounds like a real conversation and this should do the trick to win. Have a great weekend

Aw. Very sad and sweet dialogue piece is excellent for the contest. I see nothing to correct. The only thing I could suggest is maybe use the word "Mom" sooner (...not hurting anything, Mom.)? so their relationship will be clear at the beginning without the story description line. Great job!

This is an excellent entry for the dialogue only contest. Not only is the subject of profound meaning but I also particularly like how the writer dealth with the task of explaining that profound loss to a young one, to whom the loss has brought on such a heartache:
Is the hurt in my heart ever going to go away?
Someday it will. Maybe not today, but someday. And when it does, you will remember all the good times the two of you shared together.
I hope "Someday" comes really fast. He was the best friend a guy ever had, Mom.
He surely was, Morgan. He surely was...
Wish I had a six. Good luck with the contest.

That is a delightful dialogue only piece. Hope you do well in the contest. I thought writing without the 'he said, she replied' would be very hard and boring, but I found it to be a terrific exercise, and a fun thing to tackle. Sincerely Anne

Excellent work. You captured how a young kid's mind works and how a caring parent responds. I love how the mom brings the dad into the conversation. Also the continuity and continuation of life through the Grandfather. Great pacing and dialogue.
