Again, well written and well told. I'm glad for your happy endings with your sons.
Your words should be encouragement for many to seek control over their lives.
Well done and thank you, again, for sharing this with us.

Great writing as always. So glad most of your children have found the path to sobriety. I'm sure Nick will one day too. They sound like amazing kids, really intelligent and doing well. Thanks for sharing. Rox

This work has reached the exceptional level

Your poems are riveting and deserve six stars on their own. You vividly convey in your prose "the pain, the guilt, and the recriminations" and your wise advice that we have "to learn our own lessons, in our own time". Warm regards- Joan

A very well-written chapter in the series. We always feel good about ourselves when we achieve our goal after many struggles and setbacks that makes the victory so much sweeter.

The joy of being sober
compared
to being drunk or high,
Is the weightlessness that grew me wings
allowing me to fly.' I have been a tranquilizer addict and so understand the depths of this wonderful write which combines poetry with wonderful prose. This really is magnificent and such a moving testament to the benefits of sobriety. Love and warmest regards, meia xx

Hi, Dallas;

Thank you for sharing the continuation of the alcoholic gene. It really is insidious how it hits here and there, leaving one branch clean and then decimating a generation.

I didn't see anything I would change. I just wish I had a sixth star for you,

patty

    Thanks, patty. If I was smart, I would probably post on Sundays. I do appreciate the virtual.

This is a great ending to your story. The two poems at the end is a very nice touch. You're right sometimes all we can do is pray and be there to pick up the pieces when they fall.
