A very well-written poem. I must admit I could not help to giggle at the end. The poor man must have felt so embarrassed when he was caught by his wife wearing her underwear. Lol.

Old joke or not you've penned an amusing little underwear poem here Craig, it made me chuckle. The altering line length and second line rhyme gives good flow to a good read.
cheers,
valda

The story line is a fun one and I am sure there will be some here on FS who will be able to relate to it : ) No! not me ha ha. The poem itself was well written, humorous, had a sing song feel/ great meter and excellent rhyme.

Lol! You had me fooled for sure. It seems the clothes were on the other person! Very well done. And "shivviness" is such an unusual word. A perfect candidate for the Balderdash game. It's fun to say, too.

Hahahaha!
Well, I didn't see that coming, Craig.
I suppose I should get my mind out of the gutter, 'ey?
I would wager a guess that I'm not the only one, however.
Excellent rhyme and internal rhyme.
Great stuff.

Ah Craig,

I must admit to being not too keen to read a poem titled, "The underwear poem". All sorts of red flags went off in my head lol! You tackled the word for the day well. Excellent job making readers think the strip tease was leading to sex. Excellent twist ending. I did not see that as a possibility. So you are supposed to buy your own women's underwear in future.

Well, "The Traumatised Transvestite" would have given the game away, Joy :)

I'm afraid I'll have to make my own trip to Victoria's secret - there is no way my other half's attire would fit me!

    Many thanks, Craig

Oh, am I glad I stumbled onto you, fellow writer, because your work is pure genius. Not only do I love your Christmas present for 2017, but even more, I love what you're doing with it. These need to be published, when you finish. You do have that in your mind, don't you? They're simply too good not to share!

Firstly, thanks very much, John, for the wonderful comments and the stellar rating. Both are very gratefully received. As far as publishing - the thought crossed my mind, but I've discovered, as I'm now up to somewhere around 150 poems for the year, many of them based on rather odd words, that not all of them are of publishable quality - in fact, most probably aren't. But perhaps it will lead to a small selection that could be used for such a purpose. Many thanks again for your kind support.
