I remember reading this poem too, enjoying it, and then putting fingers to keyboard and my mind tossing me a blank on what to review.

I thought things like... sweet, a tender image of love and absence. Bonnie Tyler... I thought of the actual eclipse I got to watch and my husband, being a softy as tears came to his eyes to get to see the eclipse himself. I wondered if he gets that sort of missing me absence. Though he'd say something along the lines of, I can't miss you while you're standing here, or something. ... with a wink.

I thought these things, but they didn't feel very useful to write out. But I figured to write it out now, as I thought them again, reading this poem again.

This 5-7-5, The Eclipse, has the proper format and sent me to the dictionary to look up 'deliquium'. The comparison to the solar eclipse is well understood. Nice.

Well, I don't know how to do "proper" phonetic spelling, but my rough approximation would be "de-lic-we-um", where "de" is a short vowel sound - as in "dead", not "deed". Or, you could listen to how this lady with the lovely latin accent says it (just click on the speaker) :)

Depending on whom you listen to (me or my doctor) I either have type 2 diabetes, or am pre-diabetic. Either way, it's no massive concern, but I apparently need to lay off the sweet stuff. How wonderful that I just reviewed a poem about chocolate lol

What an interesting word with such different definitions. I like how you used it in this poem - an eclipse as a metaphor of the fainting of the spirit when the beloved is not near.
