That is a very profound saying for your picture. It's one you have to say a couple of time before it computes. It sets the tenor of your poem. The imagery formed in the mind with reading the first verse creates a sense of vastness. The second verse is a lead in for the reader to hem and haw. And what comes out of it is that the reader has to admit they cannot commit. They do not have that kind of faith. Very clever. Well written.

Liz my friend, I appreciate your visit and the in depth and profound review; thank you very much.
Comment from Katya
This is a five seven five poem based on a quote about faith by Rabindranath Tagore. You took the metaphor a step further, saying birds actually fly by faith too. I suppose it is fair to say people walk by faith as well.

The poem itself is a good entry but the picture with its wording is very, very confusing. Is it a contest on pictures with captions or a poetry contest? I sometimes wonder

If only it were that easy. Maybe it is. Maybe I just don't remember how to believe. That would be sad. This morning, I read about a woman who graduated college at eighty-four-years of age because she believed she could.

Hello Thomas, my friend, faith is a powerful thing and it's simply a matter of believing, leaving the rest to God; I appreciate your time and the kind review; thank you very much.

This spiritual 5-7-5 about birds, Matter of Faith, focuses on the bird in flight and, along with the cool quote, emphasizes that faith is believing without seeing.

this is so true and perfectly voiced in this format poem. the sage Todd Snyder said "you are not really flying until you land, before that you are falling."
