Ah, punny... : ) I get it.... Ptero-dactylogram

I was wondering where this party setup was going. Our households big on dinosaurs, so this was fun. The sets were smooth, with rhymes (save for the one pair I paused on) felt natural and didn't jump at me as used because they rhyme, which is something I enjoyed about them.

if asked what party outdoes it(his)?,
(not sure... figured to ask if his over it?)

But time was of the essence and
some guests were far away,
and raptors, although fleet of foot,
get side-tracked on the way.
(This was the only set where I wasn't sure if there was a better rhyme than away/way... for this set. Figured to pull it forward.)

Other than this set's rhyme pair, I found this poem fun with a cute pun. Really enjoyed the dinosaurs.

    Hi Turtle,

I agree "his" is better than "it" - thanks for that :)

Way/away also isn't brilliant, but for the moment I can't think of an alternate that fits well. I will mull it over for a bit.

Many thanks again for a most helpful review.

That was fun to read, especially the end. Loved it. And will read one day when I substitute. Delightful! They say short comments are not useful, ture, but if one finds it perfect, what else is there to add.

Very clever misuse of the word. LOL! Dactylogramma would get a laugh out of this one if she were still alive. Oh, those wacky dinosaurs! I miss their shenanagins. Today's reptiles just spend the day sleeping on rocks...borrrrring.

LOL Nice work. Is that Dactylogramma who lives in the Dactylogrampians? Cheers, Craig

Your children's poem is written and presented well. I always marveled that young kids can pronounce these huge words. It seems that if they are interested in a topic (dinosaurs) they have no problem with articulation. Marilyn

It's funny how dinosaurs are a topic of such interest to children, and I believe you're right about the articulation. Thanks, Marilyn.

This is a fun poem about life as a dinosaur. The use of the word of the day is inventive. It seems dactyl is a poetic term and also sound dinosaurish. I dinosaur
telegram. A message sent dino air mail by a pterodactyl.

Keep writing

It may not reflect the true meaning of the word, but still was very cleverly used Craig. Nicely rhymed and great rhythm in this dinosaur party, leaves me with a smile, and waiting for the dactylogram LOL
cheers,
valda

I'm sorry, Valda, but it's a strictly dinosaurs-only party, and while I'll accept that may describe me, I'll not have that term used about any of my friends! I will make sure they save you a beverage and some nibbles, though. Thanks for the lovely review - Craig

Okay, Sir Wit, you win the day;
dactylogram is on the way.
But I have chores I must complete,
and without me, you'll miss the beat.
For I'm the heart of every bash.
Hosting one now is rather rash.

(my next poem is a limerick - no, not the dark one!...) *grin*

Haha, well thank you for the lovely comments, and the outstanding poem, Dawn errrr, Deb. It's a shame you'll miss the party. It's going to be full of wild exotic dancing and drunken debauchery the likes of which hasn't been see since ancient Rome. And that's just me, wait until the guests show up! :)

I like it :) I can see why you used your word of the day as a dinosaur word. It makes more sense as a dinosaur delivery word. I'm sure those dinosaurs had need for a delivery system. Way to go, Craig :)

Lol. I love all the dinosaur references and you're right when we see that "dactyl" it's easy to think of pterodactyl not "finger." Now the real trick would be to write entirely in dactyl meter.

That would be a trick, as I don't fully "get" that meter! But you're absolutely right, that is how it *should* have been written :) Many thanks for the lovely review, Helen - Craig

As I was never a fan of dinosaurs I can't even pronounce

the words you wrote and you can surely come up with some

dillies. Well presented and enjoyable. Nancy

Thanks, Nancy. Maybe it helps that some of my bes6 friends are dinosaurs? hehe
