Hi, Craig,

Read through this political-themed contemplation in poem form. Looks like a repeating 8-8-10 syllables?

appealing to a loud and angry mob.
(it's an odd thing to live through, watching someone so distasteful, someone who makes my skin crawl as he seems to embody the worst of people, be cheered on by loud, angry mobs.
This set establishes a stead pace in expressing, with a sensible voice, some dismay over the clearly questionable choice of leadership coming from a chunk of the free world.)

the end of life on this our planet Earth.
(I like the use of 'end of life', with 'our planet'... gives the unfortunate perspective of being stuck in the backseat of the same bus, while all these crazies are up front, and other passangers in the same bus are complaining for others to mind their own business... but if the bus crashes, er... same bus)

Why is it that it seems only crazy people want to be in charge?

Enjoyed this poem.

Maybe it's a job only crazy people would want? I'm not sure, but I think the idea of so much power in one person's hand is terrifying, especially when that person is... well, I won't go on...

Thanks for a fine review, Turtle :)

I gather you're not a fan of Prez Trump. He's done a lot of things that are really good for the economy, even tho he comes off as a buffoon. I prefer having the economy fixed, regardless the nonsense he spews. No one is perfect. I'm certainly not up to his job. At least he knows what he's doing. Better him than me! LOL!

Not sure about the economy. He scrapped the TPP deal, now (last I heard) he's looking at trying to get back into it. Reversed his position on Chinese tariffs, if I recall. Seems to be a case of stuff it up, and then try to recover. Some things do seem to be improving in the US economy. From what I see, it has little do do with him. Economies tend to do what they will do, to some extent disconnected from what the clowns in office are doing. As for whether he has a clue what he's doing, we can agree to disagree lol

Super good job with this one. Of course written with your signature panache and excellent metre and rhyme.

I'm wondering if you are remembering all the new words you are introducing us to, or is a secret takeover and we are being lulled into complacency?

Great job and danka for the share. :)

Gloria

I am rewriting the English language one word at a time. By the time the exercise is complete (only 265 poems from now), my Luciferan plan for world domination will be complete!

    Many thanks, Gloria :)

This is a very well written chapter to your book. It has lots and lots of imagery and the reader really enjoyed the read and will be returning to read more.

this is a very good poem with a unique rhyme scheme (aabccb). valid content, although the internet has already killed the circus. jugglers and clowns have been replaced by cats falling off a bureau.........meeshu

Oh this is really good. I like the rhyme scheme--it seems particularly well suited to the tone and subject matter, somehow. It's fun watching you romp through the linguistic curiosities!

Are you talking about an Australian politician or the President of the USA? Lol

Either way, the poem is excellent and witty. Well written. No errors or edits needed.
All the best,
Jan

Really? LOL Oh well, I no longer know anything at all about the state of Australian politics except what family members and friends share from time to time.
When I lived there as a child, I think I recall there a Prime Minister called Gough Whitlam? Not sure on the spelling. But, it's been a long time. LOL

Your memory and spelling are both excellent :)

    Were you born here?

    Cheers, Craig
reply by Janilou on 22-Apr-2018
No, I wasn't. I was born here in the USA, but my mother was Australian, and my father was American. We moved to Australia in 1971 and I didn't come back to the States until 1995, so I was there a while. LOL

Disgustingly Lewd, This Arrogant Dude
(I'll sign my name, too!)
by Dawn

I wonder who on earth you mean?
I see your poem's polite and clean,
so you must not refer to one who brags
that he can "grab", assault and scorn
the gender part where he was born -
to hear him, all of womankind just gags.

Unbelievable that this man was actually voted in... Your poem rocks!!!!!!!!

LOL thanks, Dawn, both for the lovely comments, and the witty verse.

Let's oust this crass and vulgar interloper,
    He's nothing but a rampant ***** groper!

    Cheers,

Lord, Lord....What a wonderful political commentary to which I'm sympathetic. Your thoughts are so eloquently put and the meaning so clever. Truly masterful. Dorinda
