"tete-beche" ... that's a new one. I didn't know that there were upside down stamps out there. I suppose that anything that one can collect can have a flaw, and because of that rarity it could potentially be worth more than a perfect specimen. As you say, "there is no need to pout or frown" and "just be glad it came your way". :)

Funny, most of my mail gets zapped to me these days.
Stamps are a dying breed. I'm guessing philatelists are, too.
I remember an upside-down bi-plane stamp. Very valuable.
I also remember S&H Green Stamps--gave 'em away at the A&P.
Bought my first guitar with two-and-a-half books.

I admire your Christmas present.

Decades ago, A&P was a grocery store chain. As a promotional gimmick, A&P awarded shoppers S&H Green Stamps which could then be redeemed for 'prizes'. That guitar was a 'prize' all right. A fellow guitarist, eh? I'm working on something of a memoir linking my girlfriends with the guitar(s) I owned during her tenure. Oddly enough, I call it Girls and Guitars. I'm sure it will earn me tons of S&H Green Stamps. L
