Wonderful job on this piece. It flowed with perfection. Word choices were also great and your subject was good as well. Can't say I found one thing wrong with this poem. Great piece!

This is truly beautiful, my friend. It starts off with such an amazing closeness and asoften occurs in life with all of its stresses, grow apart. So sad this has to happen. Best wishes in the contest~Debbie

The poem flowed well. Chosen explanations are made very clear and descriptive.
The arrangement is understandable and effective. Emotional reflections are insightful and impressive.

I did locate one typo. Nothing to worry about at all. It will be a quick fix.

(compasses) of certitude

Everything else looks terrific.

The words you chose worked well.

I look forward to seeing you again.

Love you,

Oatmeal

    Hello Oatmeal!
I so appreciate your stopping by and your thoughtful review.
Actually, "compasses" is what I intended as I am writing about two sisters who were the compasses of certitude for the speaker.
Thank you again for your excellent rating and review.

The feeling of loneliness when two lovers are no longer in love can be a devastating and a sorrowful emotion. I really enjoy reading free verse because the message can flow freely throughout the lines from beginning to end. You did well here, God bless and thanks for sharing.

I like the metaphor of the ship and diverging paths. I enjoyed the third stanza with the kaleidoscope of memories. There is such a range of experiences among the memories mentioned.

This work has reached the exceptional level

This seems really good on many levels. I submit stuff doing my best but it pales to things such as this. What makes a good writer? Can poor writers, me, even recognize good stuff? In how it provokes thoughts and emotions, yes. Maybe like singers, but there how good one is, does not often correlate to thoughts and emotions evoked. No matter, keep up the good work!

Dear Poet,

Once your compass now your sister has sailed away leaving cherished memories when you two were closely bonded. How did it happen you know not but it did and the ship sailed away.

Good luck in the contest a worthy entry.

Happy Spring,

Winslow
