Actually, "compasses" is what I intended as I am writing about two sisters who were the compasses of certitude for the speaker.

The feeling of loneliness when two lovers are no longer in love can be a devastating and a sorrowful emotion. I really enjoy reading free verse because the message can flow freely throughout the lines from beginning to end. You did well here, God bless and thanks for sharing.

I like the metaphor of the ship and diverging paths. I enjoyed the third stanza with the kaleidoscope of memories. There is such a range of experiences among the memories mentioned.

In how it provokes thoughts and emotions, yes. Maybe like singers, but there how good one is, does not often correlate to thoughts and emotions evoked. No matter, keep up the good work!
