I like this theme, the strip tease... though not limited to women to perform, is presented here in the historical reference.

I'm sure the first strip tease came some short time after the invention of clothes. : D

Easy to read acrostic, I enjoyed reading. I had a lot of random thoughts through the poem ... the controversy if the strip tease is demeaning or empowering, lewd or art, a sinking ship of morals, or a casting aside of infantile inability to appreciate physical beauty without repressing it into its base parts.

The slow push at the envelop of what's taboo.

So that's what they call a striptease artist, ecdysiast. I guess it makes sense.

Unique colour choices - I know how to interpret that... "are you colour blind? That's disgusting!" LOL - I admit it, I'm hopeless when it comes to anything artistic whatsoever. Now there's an impressive word. Pronouncing it is a challenge. Spelling it would be a nightmare for me lol! The strippers have a history. I thought it was something they always did? Who knew? I've heard them called the local ballet at the pub. Or something along those lines. Nicely done acrostic.

Hi Joy, no - ladies, plural. Another way to say it would be "some think the ladies ARE headed for a fall", but Brits (and we copycat Aussies) will often omit the "are", because we're lazy :) Like you, I'm pretty sure stripping existed before the 19th century. That's what I added "confirmed" to the description in the book. Cheers, Craig

I think nudity on TV reached its peak in the 70s here - there was quite a bit of full frontal then. We seem to have become more conservative in the intervening decades, at least as far as our TV goes.
