Wow, though this is a very sad narration, you have artfully, with love and sensitivity crafted its image and pathos. The photo adds affinity and mood to your rendition. blessings, john

Your story is well told and clear. Somewhat grim though.
I can't imagine trying to sleep all day to stay awake all night.
It sound like the pillow monster is something to be very afraid of though.
Thank you for sharing this interesting story with us.

Hi there,

I think you did a great job with this piece. The deep point of view is very satisfying and has a clear, clean voice. It's crisp and not overly dramatic or saccharine either. Really nice tone and balance.

Great story.

That is so sad, but a truth for so many millions of people. Some hoping to halt the figure of death coming in their direction. You really captured the moment perfectly with this well written story. Well done, it was an excellent read. :) Sandra xxx

This so reminds me of my Mother. She had a heart attack, then a stroke and a second stroke that left her paralyzed on the right side of her body, unable to walk, talk or eat. She then got a feeding tube. I cannot imagine how hard it must be to be trapped within your own body. Death comes everyday to the Nursing homes and Assisted living Care Homes. Sadly, but some them for look for death, it is their way home, to God. Very thoughtful, heartfelt story, beautifully told. Sherman541

I was absolutely gripped from start to finish while reading this story. I hope it is not autobiographical. I expect not. It is very scary and believable. Well done. Jen.

Thank you for your comments and stars. I appreciate both. I know most ill people die in the hours between 2-4 in the morning. Unnerving, isn't it?

Somehow I doubt if this is actually you Beck, (my elder daughter's shortened name) but it certainly means that you've got in the head of some grumpy old person's head, and done it very well. In the last 3 months of my mother's life she basically just wanted the "pillow monster" to stop at her door. We couldn't pick her up from the floor when she staying with us. But you've done an excellent job with this one my friend, well done, blessings, Roy

Thank you for your comments and stars. I appreciate both. It might be me someday. I would really die hang-gliding, but this is probably more realistic. The pillow monster steals our last breath and we are free. Bless our elders.

I like the hang-gliding heh heh

Wow! This is terrifying! I so enjoyed your story though and it was realistic and profound. Getting old is no picnic and living in a home is like living in a hospital, where you are constantly being checked and no one respects your privacy and then there is the pillow monster who takes the innocent in the night, a nightmare! Really enjoyed it, love Dolly x
