A good one, Rhonda. No doubt about it. Took me a moment to get into the story and who everyone was, but that aside, it was an enjoyable read. I didn't see any technicals, either. Well done. Chuck

-Nice artwork.
-A good chapter with some
interesting surprises and good description:
"...galloped a fiery red horse with a rider cloaked in crimson robes."
-Very good rapport between Lightning and Nara, Rhonda.
-The biggest surprise was Lightning's transformation;
your description made him sound beautiful.
-Even Nara's courage prompts her into quick action;
however, the efforts of both horse and rider
weren't enough this time.
-Now we await the fate of both.
-A virtual six for this chapter.

Thank you for the virtual six. I appreciate the detailed review.
I sort of took a step into the unusual, but I had planned it in advance.
You're right, for all Lightning's best efforts, and for all Nara's efforts, they fell anyway.
I'm working on the next chapter, but not sure when I'll post it.
You're the only one who's remarked on the rapport between Nara and the horse. I had tried to build that into it. I love horses!
I had hoped to pull off the surprise on Lightning, but was afraid some people had caught on a bit that he wasn't what he seemed to be.

    Thanks again, my friend,
    Rhonda

You are very welcome and deserving, Rhonda. I feel as long as you have something planned, and not just thrown in, it will more than likely work, and I thought it did. I appreciate you telling me about picking up on the rapport between Nara and the horse. Your love of horses comes through well, too. Do you ride?
reply by the author on 11-Mar-2018
I used to ride a lot, but it's been a few years. Right now, we have cattle, and for some reason, that satisfies my need for large animal contact.

Rhonda
Aught oh, looks like we've definitely left reality behind.
The previous fantasy was just the stories of Ole Riley,
but now we're in for a dose of Dare Devil Girls.
Perhaps the three brothers will be three Jedi Knights,
instead of the three musketeers.
There is no doubt from this point on,
we are definitely in fantasy land.
An exciting action packed chapter with an early win for the dark side,
but there is much more to come, of that I'm sure.
Sorry I have no sixes left, my friend.
Well done

Thank you for the virtual six, Robert. It means a lot.
Did, definitely, leave reality behind. I've meant to all along, and some people got a bit of a hint of it, and have gotten close on comments. Those who know my work, couldn't have been too surprised.
I like to mix fantasy with real life settings, or as mentioned, the Daredevil Girls. I try to anchor fantasy.
Any way, I'm pretty sure the Three Musketeers will be found to be more than they seemed to be as well, though definitely not Jedi Knights... close, but not them.

    Thanks again, my friend,
    Rhonda

Thank you, Marilyn! I love Greek Mythology, which will be evident as this story continues, and Pegasus horses even more so. It mixes my favorite animal with one of my interests. lol

Thanks so much for reading and reviewing,

Lightning lunged upward, but not fast enough. Nara felt him shiver as the arrow found a spot in his flawless white wing. He faltered, tipping his rider to one side and forcing her to slide from the saddle.' So beautifully written, a tremendous fantasy write this is awesome and was so enjoyable to read well done superb and I look forwardto reading more kindest regards and warmest wishes Meia x

Ah now, wait a second. I want a Pegasus.
You definitely had my heart racing with this one and to find out ole Lightning isn't what he seemed is a fantastic twist to this story.
But Nara's fate remains to be seen.
Very nice job!
Michael

Thank you, Michael. I could use a Pegasus myself! Yes, he was deftly disguised, and for a good reason, which will be more evident later.
    Thanks for the wonderful review,

Rhonda, this is what happens when one has been gone too long. Love this chapter and hope to go back and catch up. Your story-line is captivating. Exceptional character development and stark imagery.

Thank you, Jimi! What a kind thing to say.
The chapters preceding this one were intentionally a bit bland and misleading as to the nature of the book. It sets up like a Western, which is sort of is, but leads to fantasy.
I love to integrate fantasy and reality anyway.

Thanks for reading, and good to see you back,
    Rhonda

Interesting story...I have not read any of the previous chapters. However, I was able to easily follow the events taking place. The descriptions are good as is the imagery. It has me intrigued and I will try and go to the previous chapters in order to catch up. Keep writing.

Well, I wasn't expecting any of this.

Well-written, incredibly creative, excellently structured. I love it. I worry for horse and woman (wonder at that abuse she shoves down with her boot), want to know where Henry went.... so much to find out and understand.

Yes, Nara had a lot of pent up rage stomping the kidnappers hand. Can you sympathize? I can. lol
Good questions, all answered in time.

    Thanks again,
