Your enjoyment of storms is interesting, and probably not as uncommon as you think. In fact, I enjoy them myself, but whenever possible do so from the safer side of a window. You shouldn't feel it necessary to keep your pleasure a secret.

Thank you for understanding. We happen to have a sunroom with a lot of windows. A perfect place to enjoy it all. I appreciate your time for the review. Melissa

This is a really well-written story! I enjoyed reading it, and was hooked from beginning to the end. I mostly love watching any rain or snow storms, as long as they don't get too bad. Great job at describing every detail, and having a great picture too!

I think the way you describe why you like storms is perfectly understandable. The power of nature is intoxicating. You clearly understand the dangers and take precautions about tying things down so no one gets hurt. It's a healthy appreciation of nature.

OMG -- another storm lover!! I love storms, the closer the better as long as no one gets hurt. I would love to see a tornado -- again, as long as no one gets hurt including animals. It's supposed to snow tonight and I'm getting excited! :D
Good luck in the contest.

Wow Sugarray, what a fantastic picture. It's amazing that storms like that actually happen. I have never seen a sky like that ever. Personally, I too like a good storm, but mostly when I am at home and safe. I love the sound of it raging and appreciate that the earth is getting a good soak.
Just a small observation. You have started your final paragraph with "Although" and started the next sentence with "May". I think it may read better if you omit the word "Although" and just start with 'You' which then flows on correctly to the next sentence. Just food for thought. Either way, a most enjoyable and interesting read...all of it. ~DD

The song I Love A Rainy Night popped in my head as I read this. Now I got the tune stuck in my head. I am with you on this, I love storms and like to watch the lightening light up the sky and sit somewhere and just listen to the rain. Thanks for sharing and best of luck with the contest.

Well written story...I just noticed this last part was just way too long in sentences. You can shorten them up like I've done below. I use to live in Ohio, and I always liked a good storm too...

Although you might find me odd for my story. You might even think I've gone bonkers for enjoying storms; however, may I remind you, there are people who jump off bridges with only an elastic band to count on. Other folks like to walk on tight ropes with a slim balancing bar. And still others who jump out of perfectly good airplanes, and these folks rely on only a silk sheet to catch the wind that will carry them to the ground.

Great writing with very vivid descriptions. The reader can feel your passion in what you do, your natural love of writing.

Well done.

I should have studied meteorology, they say, but it isn't the science, its the force of nature inherent in a good storm that fills me with wonder. ~ Yes, I understand you in this one - I feel the same way. That fascination with pure unadulterated Nature.

I glanced back and the column had gone black. (you need a line break here) Instantaneously, I realized it was a tornado and the reason I hadn't seen it moving was because
