First, I'm sorry you're having such a problem with Amazon. You've been with them for a while, so I read everything in this post carefully. It's interesting that you mention Thriftbooks as I'm sure that I've bought from them before. I'm going to make another choice when it comes time to buy a used book, which I rarely do. I've been burned a few times by the awful quality of the used books.

Hide on there are many other serious publishing companies out there like authorhouse random house there's Dorrance in Philadelphia one of the older ones if you want to write a picture book there's a Glee brius they're wonderful but of course the set this all up you better put down a couple Grand but you will be guaranteed a retail that you would want your books to be listed at this was well written thank for this and have a nice Valentine's Day dr. Hi Dawn, I am in the process of having my book edited and possibly published through amazon on createspace. This is very worrying as the price is the most important thing. Who in their right mind would pay higher prices for a book that is retailed at the going rate. I want my book to be no more than £5.99 in English pounds as that is the normal going rate for a novel over here. If they put a higher price on it then it will not sale. What then is the point of having it published in the first place? Thank you for bringing this to our attention.

That's some strange goings on as far as the retailing of someone's book at what may seem like a huge mark up. I suppose those people put up all the books fro a huge amount figuring someone in a million might but it at that price. What a world.

I wouldn't care so much about the third-party sellers. That's just free market enterprise and good luck to them if they can get it. I've seen Margaret Snowdon's books regularly selling for over a $1000 from those guys.
My question is -- why isn't the book also available at the regular retail price?? Amazon/Createspace should handle that. What did they say on that front?

Sad when authors who starve will writing cannot receive royalties they are due while publishers use labor of others to feed their own greed. Keep exposing them. My prayers are that you will be able to self publish. It is hard to come up with the start-up, but at least you earn what you are due in sales.
