This haiku, A Frog and Blue Moon, brings this warty amphibian out to face the moon, as he seems to do nightly around here during the spring and summer. Hope he sees his shadow.

Beautiful! I wish you luck in the contest -- it's a good enter. (Do you know what it is like to have a kitten staring at you while you do this? :P )
Take care,
Nome

What a fun picture! Ah, when we look at the skies we feel that small - like a frog. When we look at the frog, it gives us the imagination and wonderment of what the little frog thinks of the universe.

I figured you were inspired by the artwork, since I spotted it when I was looking for a picture to compliment my recent post about a blue moon. I liked the scene you captured in your poem. (Since a haiku is typically 5-7-5 or fewer syllables, perhaps your long final line could be reduced to just "selflessness".) Best wishes in the contest- Joan

Wonderful poem One, but go back and read rules? I wouldn't want you to not win with this original and great post because of extra lines? Ask Rama Divi, she knows a lot about this stuff...but loved this and best wishes!!â?¼

Hi Ina! That's cute, but more than a frog can stare at the moon. You're creative with strong visual imagery. He should go find love. He and her watching the moon's a great image. Probably better. Nice work. Good luck in the contest. Hearts & hugs, Alicia

This is certainly an ingenious subject--a blue moon and a green frog. In your second stanza, you might want to describe the moon instead of just bringing in stars as well. Your focus is on the moon. Such a fitting piece of artwork. It works in really well. I don't know that the rules are for this particular count, but I counted 5 syllables, first line, 7 syllables, second, line, and 7 syllables last line. Don't know what the requirements are for this particular contest. Best of luck. judi
