Nothing ever changes, the rich get richer and the rest of us just try to survive. These days when the stockmarket plummets to me it's like monopoly money.I wouldn't want to be checking out the super right now. Great job with the nonet, especially considering it's your first one, and a great word, dyvoury. The rich devour the hard earned money of the workers. very apt.
cheers,
valda

Thank you so much for the wonderful review, and the lovely gift of six stars, Valda. How do you ever manage to have any left on a Saturday? That's amazing lol

I have some respect for our PM, but in this regard, he's as full of it as every other business mogul and economist. I just love how the rich try to tell us if they get yet more money, they'll suddenly be all benevolent and kind and share it with the rest of us. Got to run, I just saw a pig fly past my window... must see where he's off to.

Have a wonderful rest of your weekend.

Mainly had a 6 left because I've been having health issues and haven't been doing a lot of reviewing, but trying to catch up a bit on this warm Saturday afternoon.
    cheers.

I hope it isn't something too serious, and that you are feeling better than you have been. It's too warm here. We've got shearing on Wednesday (my idea of a romantic Valentine's Day!), and it better have cooled down a bit by then!

Just a couple of issues that I need to get sorted.

Hey, Craig.

Got to read this poem. I've been so out of it, I didn't even know the stock market took a hit. Goes to show you I'm head deep in a hole right now. I enjoyed reading this. Things I liked. Nice flow, I like the theme word being about bankrupcy, and how nicely that all ties in with boasting about how well something is doing, and then when it isn't doing, well... logic need not apply.

ha. I just wondered to myself if there is a single word that means ... logic need not apply.

The trickle-down, ... somehow it always seems that doo-doo trickles down way faster than anything good.

Wow, I figured you must have been busy, but I hope everything is OK.

If there isn't such a word as you describe, there should be! I know one word for "logic need not apply", but I can't say it. Oh wait, maybe two... how about "ideology"?

    Many thanks :)

This is an odd word that seems to sound out the phrase,' devour ye' as though it were a euphemism for the cannibalism in Jonathan Swift's famous adage on the
English having Irish children for supper.

Interesting how Swift's description of the treatment of these children is so absurd as to constitute great humour, yet there is nothing or in the slightest bit odd with doing exactly as he describes, as long as the "offerings" are of a different species. Thanks for reviewing, and for the thought-provoking reference. Craig

First, your notes - nope. He didn't claim responsibility, at least according to my local ("fake") news. I think what bothers me the most about compulsive liars is that they have a real tendency to believe their own lies (and think the rest of the world are stupid).
This is a fun nonet, and well-done, Craig.

Thanks very much for the kind words, Dawn. You're absolutely right with your observations. How will you convince anyone, if you can't convince yourself first? Cheers, Craig

Love the subtitle, Craig. Abracadabra is exactly right. The magic of compound interest. Remember how that was the big selling point for years and years and then suddenly it disappeared again, under the last Republican president and the market crash of 2008. Canada's real estate market took a huge hit because of it. Now we're in round three. Any time a government deems it smart to borrow 1.5 Trillion dollars to pay for a tax break for the ultra-wealthy with the unlikely prediction they will create jobs has got it wrong. Most of that cash will go into their pockets. Trickle down doo-doo it becomes.

That said, a perfect nonet except for that bulging line in the middle. Is a deliberate physical representation of a stock market bubble?

Interesting word. It reminds me of DVORAK the original keyboard layout.

Gloria

This is a very well done nonet and you have the count just right. YOu are so right, this is going to be quite a day or recovery, if possible.

Craig,
You did a great job on your first ever nonet. I like the colors. Your lines have the correct syllable counts, too. Your message is well-expressed. Thanks for sharing. Jan

Thank you for the lovely comments, Jan. I did have a "bulge" in the middle, which I'm told isn't allowed. My excuse was "it's symbolic!" Then I fixed it LOL- cheers, Craig

This is a fine nonet. Your syllables are all good. Your shape is good. I find getting the shape to be the hardest part of nonet writing for me. I'm wondering who you consider the world's smartest businessman? My guess is Trump??? Another fine word that set this poem into motion.

Well, no, but the question is more who considers himself the world's smartest business man, and won't shut up about it?

Many thanks, Joy - cheers, Craig

This work has reached the exceptional level

The work is a social satire on the impoverishing dimensions of leadership in the global community.

The work highlights the dialectics of global peculiarities where the poor gets poorer and the rich gets richer.

Outstanding work! Keep the flag flying!
