This was a poem that brought back memories of kindergarten and primary school. I first entered kindergarten seventy-six years ago. I tried so hard to get my letters perfect. I still haven't perfected it and type all my correspondence of at least one sentence. Using the chalkboard was brilliant. It made the poem comprehensible.

ohhhh my god this is really good, it speaks to me. i've had this happen to me many times and it feels awful. this poem captures exactly what it feels like to have writers block, wanting words to appear on the page perfectly, without any thought. great woek!!! good luck on the contest

Great example of writer's block. Helping my perfectionist child learn to write was a chore for the very reason you mention. She would not write unless she felt her word choice was perfect. Took forever to do homework. Good job of capturing this aspect of writer's block.
