Well, I must say the ol' gal wasn't bashful, and she knew exactly what she wanted, and wanted it right that very minute! It sounded somewhat refreshing, but it's highly unlikely her reactions were fueled by a mad attraction to only Sir Edward Allende. And of course, the old chap might very well have gotten more than he bargained for. Thanks for sharing, and good luck! :-)

Yes, she was more than just a little forward - but then that's her trade. thank you so much, Ric. M

I liked the glimpse into a past where women seldom said what they were truly thinking, much less acted upon it. Your dialogue is so very different in the directness of this woman from some of your other characters, but I found her to be refreshing. Coy is so over-rated, especially with Victorian era females. I got a kick out of the gent asking if she wanted it right there in the restaurant. That added some lovely levity to the story.
The bit about the history of the park seems a tad out of place in the dialogue, though. A bit more of cat and mouse exchange would be better - perhaps more of a peek into the thinking of the woman. A teaser as to whether all she wanted was sex, or perhaps something lighter or darker?

Oh Margaret this was such a surprise. I had not thought this young lady to be so promiscuous, especially not in those times, but I guess it happened. Best wishes for the competition, Giddy

I was so glad to see you had posted, Margaret, and I enjoyed this dialogue only piece tremendously. It can't be easy to do, and you made a great job of it.
I hope you're feeling better and the blood pressure is under control - which is more than can be said for Edward and Gillian - especially if you were writing the scene in the bedroom!

Hugs from France,

Alexis xxx

I am using this image to date the time as the Victorian Age. This is well-written dialogue, making for a very good read. There is very good imagery. Good luck in your contest.

Ouch.

So dear Gillian is a lady of the evening? A rather rich one, at that. Well, too bad. She might never know real love. And lust gets old. And smelly.

Interesting Entry.

Margaret--
Have I seen this before? It's really...well, obnoxious, but maybe how some conversations back then went. You, of course, do it with such...taste, aplomb!

Nicely done, hope you win.

How's the blood pressure?

Glad to see you in the mix here.

Best
Jeff

After several years of absence, I came back to "Fanstory" and I was thrilled to find the spectacular novels by Margaret Snowdon again, many of them I bought and gave as present to people in many countries around the globe.

What a welcome!

When reading them, I always wondered ...

What makes a writer the right fit for a novel?

Margaret Snowdon leads the inspired dramatis personae of her energized stories and her thrilling casts, in a seething, inexorable-writing tales with the writer most boldly tot-up.

She brings effortless power, perfect words, and dramatic intensity to her unforgettable books, earning an ovation so ecstatic she could not but overcome with teary emotion.

While drawing colorful, textured wording from every scene, building stealthily to chilling climaxes, she is sensitive to the expressive subtleties of the time. For all the fire and gnashing intensity of her novels, Margaret captures the lushly beautiful, poignantly delicate moments of each scene in her remarkable stories.

No point wasting time. I enjoyed your post. Old fashioned premise with a racy couple. The female character quite bold and frank by most standards. I liked the fact you made her the aggressor. Interesting.

Margaret,
This is really good. I entered this too, and I don't stand a chance, as usual. But people do improve here, so that is what I'm striving for.
Good luck in the contest.
