Sonnets have always been a challenge for me--I think I focus too much on the rhyme and syllable count and lose some of the spirit of the poem. That's why I enjoy reading yours--because, like this one, they are well-crafted and allow the reader to move past the structure and enjoy the imagery and emotions a strong sonnet evokes.

Ha! My poems do that all the time - I rarely know where they're going to end up. Yes, this is a rather sad sonnet, but obviously one that will be a familiar theme to many.
Sound sonnet form and I like the clever use of nature scenes to echo the feelings of the narrator.
Favourite lines:

Ha! My poems do that all the time - I rarely know where they're going to end up. Yes, this is a rather sad sonnet, but obviously one that will be a familiar theme to many.

This was quite moving and I believed it was true.
You have captured those days of widowhood when every moment stirs a memory, be it sad or good. These can happen days after or sometimes years later when a thought pops into your head and brings them home...for just a moment.
