You and I are on the same page with rescued animals. Mine are always rescues. I know you have your horses, too. I enjoyed reading about Skeezix and I'm happy he has a nice home now. Your writing is clear, interesting and well described. Marilyn

Thank you. Sorry, I took so long getting back to you. I have some major back issues but am getting better now. I'm glad to find you still on here.

A well crafted story sure cat fanciers will appreciate. I actually would rather have a good dog. Anybody who drops animals on the side of the road like that needs to have the same thing done to them, except no one take them in or help them out. No excuse for that. No way your husband was gonna let his new best friend go.

Thanks for your kind review. I agree with you on people who drop animals off. They are the scum of the earth. We still have Skeezix and now I must live to be 90 so he doesn't outlive me.

I know what you mean about living longer than they do. My newest ones are less than a year old and I'm 74. lol

I loved reading about Skeezix. You should join the Animal Crackers Club.

I laugh nearly every time I feed mine. They all rush to their bowls, and their little backsides are wiggling as they run. It cracks me up. lol

Thank you for reading and commenting. Skeezix is a true clown and keeps us laughing. I don't know if the other cats think he is so funny though.

Mine keep me laughing every day. They're just so cute. I love to watch them walking fast down the hall. Their little behinds just a-wiggling. lol

Thank you. My mother used to call one of my brothers Skeezix. I looked it up on the internet and it is a real word spelled as you see it here.

Hello prettybluebirds
I can see why you were awarded first prize for your cute story of your frolicking black cat Skeezix . We had a calico cat that lived until she was twenty five.

Thank you. I should have added more description to the story. Skeezix is actually white with a black tail and some black spots on his coat.

Congratulations on your win with this delightful story. I'm glad you were the one to find those poor kittens. I'm sure Skeezix is enjoying his new life with you and your cats. I can just see those mischevious eyes peering from underneath the couch,

Happy New Year to you and yours,

~patty~

Thank you. Yep, Skeezix is a handful. It's about like having a two-year-old child in the house.

Your cat was a smart kitty purring on your hubby's lab. Yes, a monster but
loveable. Skeezix is a funny name. Hope he's a good mouser for you.

We have five cats and they are adorable. Each has their own personality
Have a great New Year's. I'll fly in again soon. flylikeaneagle - nancy

Thank you. Skeezix is a name my mother called one of my brothers as a nickname. I looked it up on the internet and it is a real word spelled as you see it here. I'm glad to know there are other cat fans on this site.

What a cute little story with an important message. Your description of the kitten and his antics are wonderful and much as I remember my last kitten's play. No errors that I noticed. Your win was much deserved.

Thank you. You do realize I must live to be 90 now, don't you? Cats can easily live to be twenty or more if they are well cared for. Most of my older cats are in their teens at this time. I must make some kind of provision for Skeezix in case he does outlive me. I never intended to take in another kitten at my age (71) but they have a way of creeping into one's heart.

Oh yes, lucky household to be woken by a bump and a thump. We rent. No Pets is the Law. I will find out soon if we stay another two years and once the owner has gone back to wherever I'm going to a cat rescue shelter and I'll pick the boldest wildest kitten or half-cat they have. I'll say its a stray!!!
Regards Mabaker.

Oh my, you're letting yourself in for it. Kittens are adorable and fun but can be highly destructive too. I assumed you already had cats with all the cat stories you write.
reply by Mabaker on 31-Dec-2017
Oh yes, that is why I write about them now, we can't have any in this rental Unit. Our old gentleman lived for 21 human years and seven months and died in my arms. Sincerely Anne.
