Amen. I love your story and heart you applied to it. It saddens me so much about the commercialism of Christmas. I do all I can now days to remind people of the real reason for Christmas, and exactly why God's gift to mankind is so wonderful. It is very sad. God Bless you for sharing and I hope you had a very Merry Christmas today.

This is an excellent biographical story on the importance of what Christmas means to each one of us individually rather than group think. We all have our reasons for celebration of this very special day. Your writing is clear and interesting. I identify with many of your comments and traditions as you grew up. everyone sings Happy Birthday to Jesus.
This reminds me of the Philipino woman I met. I asked her if she had done all of her Christmas gift shopping. She said, "In the Philippians, Christmas is all about Jesus."

Seasons of reason was well-written rich and team as well as imagery flowed well read well with no grammar issue so to speak adjective an object to come contents of complement each other more excellent descriptive measures aligned perfectly and we're in place thanks for this doctor Ricky 1024 Merry Christmas

You did a great job with your story. I enjoyed reading it. I agree with the commercialization you wrote of. To most Christmas is just an excuse to spend money--even money they don't have.

I can tell how much Christmas really means to you. I love that you put your tradition at the end.

Hi Aryr, I enjoyed reading this Christmas contest entry. I've never made or tried fruitcake. 69 years? Wow! You really covered it all in this story, from commercialism to Santa to Jesus.
