Happy, sad, or just mal-adjusted, the difference is just in degree. A fool may be smart, and a jester a wise one, but neither should ever be trusted.

The poem has an interesting three beat meter that relies heavily for its rhythm on paused beats as it varies between a bias towards the dactylic and then towards anapaest. Overall it as the feel of a tetrameter and given the insertion of pauses it can be read rhythmically.
This technique is more frequently found in lyric writing than in 'staight' poetry, but it can be effective in lighter verse as here.

You depicted a clown in your artwork and I suppose that a clown has a smile painted on his face to disguise all frowns and how he really feels. There is sadness in these words when we are forlorn because we hav been jilted or left alone and then the smile returns when that person walks back into our life, a meloncholy write, love Dolly x
