The imagery you've created here with your words is lovely. I kind of felt like I was right there watching the ducks floating happily along on their lake. It's been gray and dismal the last few days where I live, so that clear, bright blue sky sounds wonderful about now. Your syllable count is perfect. This was a pleasure to read. Best of luck to you in the contest. :)

Hello anonymous Poet: This is very special. The pictures say it all but then your caption, your few words made it even more special. You mentioned the clear, blue, cloudless sky but you did not need to see the sky as hinted in the poem. The white ducks on the calm lake are the main focus, captured on canvas. The light blue splash of a background gave us the hint of the sky. This is a job well done.

I believe these are geese, not ducks. Did the photographer label the picture? A pleasant 5-7-5 nature poem however. So I wish you good luck otherwise.

This is a very nicely composed nature 5-7-5. Your words and presentation refer to the type of scene that we associate with artists canvases. Good luck in the contest. Marilyn

White ducks swim at ease even thou the water is cold.
I like watching our geese on our river here in Minnesota.
It's good to get fresh air and watch the animals.
Great entry. flylikeaneagle - nancy

A very well-written nature haiku. Watching ducks on a lake is a great time to capture them on camera or canvas when you are a great artist. I will stick to the camera.

Thanks so much.

Nice poem that interweaves seamlessly closely related art forms. The alliteration of the palatalised velar 'c'(/k/) gives, possibly, the closest suggestion of 'quack' possible. I like the thought behind it all.

What a delightful and vivid mental image this conjurs up when you read it. I think it is beautiful. All the best of luck in the contest!
