A very well-written heartfelt sad poem. We all have our own struggles on earth to overcome. The man on the street struggles to survive from day to day, with all his belongings right by his side, where the rich man has the struggle to keep track of his possessions. Neither has a proper night's sleep.

Wow, I am so glad I had another six. It would have been ashamed to have given this awesome writing a merger five, though five is good. I loved the line; maggot white'. The poem captured the gloom of homelessness and many things you have observed throughout your life.

This resonated with me tonight ... I don't particularly enjoy these poems because they give you to thought about the darker harder sides of what living is. xoxo Kiwi

The children are the innocent who die
In agony beyond their painful cry.
Let all men know each loss is on their soul
To be adjudged when death calls in the toll.

Just loved these lines. What a powerful statement this poem makes. I found no errors. It's very good. Such vivid imagery.

Not completely sure of the message here, whether blaming the world for loss or gain. Too many make their life bad and then want to blame others. God did not leave man, man left God. To always blame others like bible thumping preachers is just passing the buck. We need to love each other and help each other but not blame others for our condition. Yes our country is in terrible shape partly because man has abandoned God.

It's a poem GW. I am not blaming anyone for anything. But the "blame" for the dire conditions some children face, all around the world, I was raised to believe it is the responsibility and, yes, sometimes the blame of the human race for misguided priorities. I think bible thumping preachers are still, if on the margins, members of the human race. And as far a God being abandoned, as the Buddha said, that is way above my pay grade. Maybe you have information I am lacking GW. I can only speak from my experience and not for anyone else. That's how I feel. Thank you so much for a nice review. easyeverett

Yes, children are marked for death in a world where violence rules. This is very well written with a smooth flow of words, making for a very good read. There is good imagery.

Hi EasyEverett, very nice abab rhyme and flow to this poem. It's a heavy poem, but great description and imagery of the dark days we are in and facing ahead.
