Hi, Tom;
Such a beautiful ode to your wife. I'm sure when she read it, she felt joy in her heart to know how much she is loved. Good for you!

Dear Mystery Poet,

A wonderful ode to the most special woman in your life -- I have to imagine that she will be over the moon when she read it! Even if you don't win the contest - you are lucky beyond measure!

One suggestion:
A lady who will (tempt?) the beast to weep,

And my favorite lines:
O lady fair whose braided hair hangs long,
You are my living miracle in song.

Thanks! And good luck!

Because of the note at the end of the poem, I salute you and your Sue. A good poem well thought out with good rhyming and rhythm.

HI anon, what a lovely gesture - a sonnet for your wife. Well written in good abab rhyme throughout. You have maintained the iambic pentameter as required in a sonnet. Your third stanza does not emphasise a volta very well but the words are gorgeous and will please your wife very much. Lovely final couplet. A perfect love poem for a loved one. Good luck in the contest. Warm regards Dorothy

I love it so much! I feel terrible now that I already used my last six. This deserves six stars. A beautiful sonnet! I could feel every word. So real. You did wonderful at putting your all into it. Does your wife like it? If I write something for a specific person, it doesn't matter about what other people think as much as that person. But still, so perfect!

"A lady who will leave the beast to weep,
And tempt the throat of every bird to sing"

The above is beautiful. Love poem contests are of my favorite as nice to read the different entries.

How giving it is knowing you wrote it for your wife...it adds that special feel.
Good luck with it.
My best wishes.

Cheers, Mystery writer;
-I surely enjoyed this English sonnet is it was passionately romantic and the enjambment close smoothly throughout your writing. This was specifically due to the proper iambic pentameter that was written and also for each rhyming word that was contingent and supportive to the meaning and understanding of each line.
-This fluidity was also to know syntactical or grammatical breaks in the writing of the enjambment.
-Superb imagery and and expressions that were definitively vivid throughout.
-Excellent quatrains followed by a quatrain of questioning a rebuttal in your third verse. In the first verse may you have put a question mark at the end of the last line of this verse?
-Good luck in the contest and take care and do have a good one and have the happiest of holidays.
Alex

This is the epitome of a love sonnet. I so appreciate your presentation as well, including such precise author notes to give even more understanding of your love. There is nothing to correct. It made me smile to read something so beautifully written.
