Well. Now I've found the reason why I left the organized church always knowing, even as a child that something just wasn't right about it. Yep. This one is a "Big Bam." It most certainly was pretty but, kneeling on cement floors seemed to be diametrically opposed to their message.

I had difficulty as well and was even kicked out a few times. BUT there are some nice little churches here and there doing good things. But the ones supporting child molesters ain't them.

This is I guess a criticism on the rotted underbelly of Evangelical Christianity, or is it? On the other hand, perhaps its a comment on the miserable rightist speeches as given on Fox news?

Maybe I am losing my touch but I can find no fault in this metre. The God squad will be snapping at your heels like rabid dogs, or at least they will be wanting to even if they haven't got the balls to show their faeces.
I liked this. I think I will still like it in a minut5e or two too.

Like the presentation. Has a Gothic appearance. Artistic creation of bountiful words and blessings. Mendacity. Another word BOO can add to his vocabulary. A rare word, indeed. Blends well with Christianity. Nice ending in that last quatrain. Has symbolic meaning. The Good Book and the flag belong together. Is the root of America or what it used to be. Nice poem! BOO-tastic!

I enjoyed reading your contest entry. I am very worried about the state of our nation and the state of our churches. I try very hard to be a Christian but I am seeing so many Christians who do a lot of harm to Christians by their actions and speech. I sure hope I don't come across that way. I wish you luck with the contest.

You are allowed to take liberties with the meter if it impacts the message. No one ever claimed that you were conventional, thanks be to God. This is powerful and scripted excellently, you never disappoint. Excellent minute poem entry.

Always on point, Mikey. I have always loved your work and this my friend is no exception. Formal poetry I tend to stay away from because "meter" scares the chit outta me but, I like the topic so I read. I loved it!
