Your response was perfect. It's just what he needed. This is a phone call that lot of parents receive. Unfortunately, most parents rush to get the kid out of the pokie.

This is a cute entry for the 100 word story prompt.
A story well told.
The picture is a good match.
Well done and good luck to you with the competition.

I had that phone call as well. I was in a different State. As my lad was seventeen, the police kept him in a single cell, so I knew he was safe. It can be a shock, or the best news ever! I don't know that it made any difference to my son. How about your boy?" Sincerely Anne

Well, I'd say it helped, and I think it did. He's not in jail now, but he's still a mess.
Thanks for the review and the comments. Raising the wild sort isn't easy. His brother and sister have pretty much kept themselves out of trouble. There's always that one...

Hahahaha! G'day Anon.

I'd let them keep him as well for using those colours! What ever happened to black and yellow lol.

A very good contest entry with a nice(peaceful) twist the the end.

All the very best of luck in the contest.

Great job.

Cheers Fez

    Thank you, Padna!

Purple and orange are Joker's signature colors! Not my choice....

    Thanks for the wonderful review!

Hahahaha!
Ya know, Anonymous Author, if more parents did this kind of thing to their kids when they decide that they wanna act out a little, then perhaps they wouldn't act out at all. At least not as much.
As for me, I can't blame this parent for going back to bed.
A little peace and quiet can be very relaxing when we can get it.
Good job with this. It's very well written and funny too.
Best of luck!

Great 100 word story! Well written with wonderful use of the required words. I loved the dialogue sequence and the perfect "mom" response: "Keep him!" Great job and much luck in the contest!

wow - I'm speechless - though I guess not totally.
Of course, I'm wondering how loosely this is based. At first, I thought this was a humorous piece, but seems not. Although, the more I think about it, you probably did the right thing to teach him a lesson. At any rate, it's a good piece - you build suspense and finish with a surprise ending. well done.

    Thank you so much.

It was pretty loosely. He does love Joker, and got hauled home in handcuffs by the police. He and his friends got caught before they did too much damage. It taught him a good lesson!

This speaks about predictability in living, when we think of peace, bad news come on telephone call and everything change, point of view life is unpredictable; I like. DR ALCREATOR
