All the best poems are six words.or fewer, like the following:

    John Donne, Anne Donne, Undone.

Maybe people will create college courses about this effort too?

    Many thanks,

A very well-written one-line poem. The wise man doesn't leave a sentence hanging in the air before it is finished. People are getting confused very easily.

No sentence as in, "I sentence you to death", Craig?
It must be something closely resembling that. Wise men who are poets, philosophers and authors leave their sentences behind all the time.
In fact, the written word and their sentences are their legacy.

Thanks for reviewing, Dean. The only rule I've learned about sentences in 50+ years of writing them is that prepositions are something you should never end them with. :)

    Much appreciated, Craig

Yeah, I guess you're right about that, Craig.
    Anyhow, you're welcome.

LOL. I'm giving you top grades for this one, Craig because your author notes are freaking hilarious. Thank you for taking the time to read this work. That had me not only laughing out loud but also filled with envy that I didn't think of it, for my entry. Now I guess I just won't even bother entering the Monostich. You got the rules nailed though, so this is most definitely exceptional and worthy of win. Best of luck to you in the contest.

Gloria

I'm so grateful that there's someone here who tolerates my sense of the absurd, Gloria. Don't hold back from entering the contest. I'm fairly certain you have nothing to fear, from this quarter at least :)

Thanks for the fun comments and the lovely rating.

A good entry for the one line poem contest.
A lot said in a few short words, not easy to do.
Well done and good luck to you with the competition.
Sharon
