No, the majority of the young today certainly don't understand. Especially since a 'love of country' seems to be going out of 'style.' God help us all if these kids ever are called to fight for the country they can't even stand for. Lovely, blessings...

Yes, hundreds, even thousands of soldiers have died in all of these wars in foreign lands. Your rhymes rang out with truthfulness and have a flow of genuine concern and care for our Veterans. Please post my fairy stories NOW. lol liberty justice
I LOVE THEM SO VERY MUCH. IT'S BEEN A WHOLE YEAR OR MORE!!

Hi there;
Thank you for sharing this moving tribute to all who served. As a veteran, married to another veteran, and mother of three veterans, I am proud to read your words and grieve the fallen,

A very well-written heartfelt poem. My heart goes out to everyone who serves their country and their people in any way possible. The ones who are not willing to serve at all is the first to dishonor the brave ones.

A loving tribute to this important time of year. So many people seem to forget the sacrifices made by others for our freedom...some of those sacrifices being the ultimate one. Well done.

Composing a poem like this using rhyme and making it flow this well is truly an accomplishment. A lot of rhymi9ng poetry seems forced. Very well written. Don

You, my friend are on a roll. You spend your emotion wisely on your poetry. Well rhymed and topical. Even though I never had the opportunity to serve, I always remember my visits to the Normandy Beaches and Pearl Harbor at this time of year.

This is a timely penned poem since tomorrow is Veterans Day. Excellently written. It is sad that veterans rarely get the respect that they deserve daily instead of one day a year. Well chosen words. This reader would change the last verse to flow more freely and be specific as to who is referred to....For who often do not understand the deed is a little confusing to me. also, the line before implies that they dead are free not the ones remaining. I do not mean to offend you because you are the author and it is just my opinion. This content so worthy and should be explicitly clear.

= Boy, you said it all in the end.
= So many innocents have paid the price, while many ungrateful step on them.
= Sad times we live in, I'm afraid.
= Excellent write.
