Good morning, Maria: This is another very deep poem from you. I see that it is a submission for the "War! What is it good for? event in "The Fabulous Free Verse Club."

It is like I said a very deep poem and it carries a meaning that touches the heart. I also appreciate the picture that you used for this poem. The red poppies have grown, covering the field where all of the red drops fell and watered the earth. (blood) I thought, "How could something so beautiful come from something so ugly?" Your poetry is also beautiful about something that is so ugly.

I also love the repetition of, "Don't do it again." War is definitely something we all want to not be done again. Your poem is Beautiful and deep.

Well done Maria - Do not do it again - love that emotional plea repeated through your free verse.Great interpretation of this subject written from the POV of one of far too many that lay beneath the poppy fields. Great read,
cheers.

G'day Maria.

A very good submission indeed.

Very well written and presented on this tragic topic. I always find it strange how they say "history repeats itself." I don't believe history repeats itself... human kind repeats the mistake others made in history.

Great job.

Cheers Fez

This is a very well written poem about war. As I was reading each word I could feel emotion. You used very good wording and very good imagery with the art work. Blessings, Teri

Hi, Maria

= Oh, this is an excellent interpretation of the prompt, Maria.
= I remember seeing another work with poppies, and it was a true story.
= Just trying to think of who/what it encompassed. Been a while.
= Nevertheless, this is an wonderful depiction.
= As well, love the music. Awesome song.

= Cheers, J
= Have a good day/evening!

This is beautifully phrased about veterans and war. The picture choice is fantabulous. I am glad you wrote in this way. It was a sad read, but carried a strong message.....but is anyone

War and roses! Or poppies. Yep, told by a dead soldier. As long as man lives, there wil always be wars. It is the barbarian beast inside him, his nature to kill, the satisfaction of taking a life thrills him and feeds his enormous ego. the bible predicts Armageddon, a series of war so there will be no peace, just a false one for seven years. Like the way you tell about war in the dead soldiers point of view. Wish BOO had 6 poppies to give but what you give us is worth more than 6 poppies. you give hope and tell the truth about war and its deadly consequences. you get a constellation of stars from BOO. I said a prayer for the lost, fallen ones... your words matter. BOO!

I do hope so. I love your review and the sentence 'your words matter'. That's a lot better than six stars. Thanks.

I had no sixers. I now fanstory is based on the star system and the nugget is the silver bullet. Cheers.~

This is very well written on an important topic. I don't think anyone wants war, ever. Not the common citizens, that's for sure. Beautifully illustrated and your poem well expressed. Marilyn

Just beautiful Miss Maria!! I wish everyone would take these words to heart, words that could have been written by those lost. Your first lines...'red drops water the earth' is haunting. Blessings...

This was absolutely amazing and so very true. The world is just not ready to understand the negativity of war. Any message that can deter from the outcome of war is a good message. This was well done and very well appreciated.
