This was both delightful and remarkable to read. Your choice of topics was great and I agree with you in your belief that dogs have a happy gene. If only we could inherit that happy gene. I know that my dog appears so happy to see me even if I have just taken the trash out and return. A moment of separation seems to be a life time for them. Great job, thanks so much.

this is indeed a happy poem and makes me remember all of the fun and love I gave and got from my dog who sadly has passed on. It a problem as we always know the pet will die before us

Nicely written short poem. Lovely photo of the dogs. I believe what you are experiencing with your pets is unconditional love. Yes, a treat from the stresses of life where we are called to be constant performers in one avenue or another. Pets are not so demanding and one can let their hair down and just enjoy being.
