Good morning, Maria: This was a very interesting assignment for this Fabulous Free Versers club. Your entry is great but I am puzzled as to who it is. You read so much more than i do so i would probably never guess who it is. It sounds like someone who is committing suicide in the water. The rocks in the pockets are supposed to make this person down into the water and stay down long enough to drown, I suppose. Am I right about this much?
It is a sad poem but is a splendid job with it. I do feel for this character.

You're totally right. I'll give you a clue. She was a famous British writer.
Thanks for your review, Tier.

Maria, I cannot identify the subject of your poem but I enjoyed your free verse anyway. To me it describes a person committing suicide by drowning. I do not know why, but I thought of Virginia Wolfe who died by drowning. When I looked it up I discovered she had filled her pockets with stones and walked into the River Ouse, thus your lines:
I'm walking on,
I don't look back.
Deeper and deeper
Till I have sunk.
This was a great loss to world literature. I take a little solace in your fine tribute to a superb writer who "feels no more."
Thank you for sharing the results of your challenge.

A very well-written free verse poem. It seems like someone who wants to end their own life by walking into the cold blue water until there are more life inside them andvtheu become one with the dark nothingness.

It's funny Maria, I love your words in this write and your structure but it is rather cryptic and I have read it several times trying to get the right interpretation. You say it is too easy. Well I am struggling to guess I will continue to work on it.

This speaks that man may sometime wish to act like someone popular or consider himself his own favourite poet or philosopher or artist but whatever one should be a real person; I liked.
