Thank you, Kerry. I'm glad you liked it. To bad you weren't on the committee. I didn't win but I got something more valuable. I captured the essence of your smile.

Awe... that's so very sweet. It should of won, then again when it come to committee decisions, I find they don't judge fairly. I see a lot of wins that shouldn't be when there are better poems/stories/etc.. out there that should of won.

Hi Poetwatch, this is such a tender loving poem for the contest entry. Well written in free verse and the words are lovely and very meaningful. 'And light the way into forever.' This line is a very good use of metaphor. I wish you luck in the contest. Warm regards Dorothy

This poem expresses those feelings we all have, it has some nice music in it, but I think it could use some personal images, some personal experiences, to bring it to life and give us something to latch onto, to raise our emotions, to give us that feeling we are sharing in a special moment. estory

Thank you, estory. Your comments are very well received. I just copied them and will try to apply their usage from now on. Are you teaching any classes?

no, I don't have time for that. My advice is read, read read poetry. What kind of poets have you read? and how long have you been writing? In order to get to know the possibilities and the forms, I would start at the beginning, and move up. Start with Donne, Spenser, Shakespeare, and then go into the Romantics, Keats, etc. and then Yeats, Heaney, Williams, Anderson, the modernists and the contemporarists. estory

The artwork is very contemporary...nothing mushy about it. The theme is dreamy and enchanting;, "We became one for all eternity. " A lovely poem about a forever love. Nice.

Thank you. When one strives to go forward and life holds you back only true love keeps you from falling.

In my opinion, this is a love poem, strictly from the heart of one possessed by love in all its earnest fervor - plaintive in its feeling of
unfulfilled promise, but content in the shared unity and intimacy of a forever love...

Thank you. The unfulfilled promise I'm still and will keep and it not... well we still are together.

You are very welcome, and I believe the promise by both of you is already being fulfilled. I wish I could have kept mine...

This is a very lovely poem about love that will last forever and beyond. Did you write this about someone in your life? If so they are very lucky.I think it will do well in the contest, and I wish you good luck.

Optimistic, guileless, idealistic, idyllic, perhaps a bit exaggerated in places, but clearly all from the heart.

Good luck in the contest, Poetwatch.

Well thank you, Don. I must say you have a way with words That is what I need to learn. My feelings are there in simple words, yet, I know that there are many words more suited to say what I want to say.
