I'm so sorry you lost your friend. I know how awful it is to lose a loved one. I'm glad they were finally able to realize their love. Perhaps Ron wasn't mature enough to be married back when and things worked out the way they were meant to. Jenny got to have two great loves in her life.

Hi, Cindy;
thank you for your condolences. 'Jenny' is the first of my contemporaries to die, and we are far too young to die. She will be missed by many people. I will miss our marathon phone calls, and summer trips.

I started reading this new chapter happily. I was so glad you were telling us more... But I didn't expect this terrible ending at all! How very sad. I'm very sorry for your loss.
Thanks for sharing your friend's story with us.

A beautiful but tragic tale. One thing: Jen calls Patty in 2016 and then dies in 2009. Am I reading that right? Otherwise, well done.

I'm so glad to have read the end of this love story.
At the same time so sad about how it ends. As usual I'd expected my HEA. Alas, not always.
>>I'm truly sorry it took so long to finish this saga. My grief wouldn't allow me to try to put into words the final days in the hospital. Thank you all for your patience and loyal readership.<<
~ No need to be sorry, Patty. Grief is an emotion and like other emotions, we can't easily lock iit up in a shelf or drawer.
Bless,
Aki

Hi, Aki;
thank you so much for sticking with this saga through the end. NO HEA here, just the sad truth about a dear friend.

It is a sad story .I remember reading the initial chapters ,about how both of them met and dated.
It is quite depressing when you think about them .I can understand why it was difficult for you to write about them

Good morning, Patty:
I am so sorry that Jenny ended up passing away. I was not ready for the ending, It shocked me and then it broke my heart. I was so happy that Jenny and Ron finally matured and realize the opportunity to finally be together. I figured that after her husband died, that she would be getting back with Ron.
I enjoyed this story. Did she live at least into her sixties or did she die young in her early fifties? I don't think I remember if I read how old she was.
Anyway, great story and I am happy that you were in the wedding. It was too special for Jenny and if you had not, you possibly would not have forgiven yourself for it.

Jenny was just about to turn 59; our birthdays were one month apart

She died way too young. So sad...

Agreed. It seems that God wants the good ones to come home early.

Patty,
I am so sorry for your loss of your dear friend. That was totally unexpected. I understand how hard this was for you to write. It was hard for me at the end to read. My mother died of pancreatic cancer. Thanks for the closure to this love story. Jan

Hi, Jan;
thank you so much for reading and sticking with me through the end of this saga. As an author, it was difficult to work with the truth and reality, when I wanted to craft the story more to my liking. I honestly believed a miracle would happen, and the story would have had a happier ending,

Such a sad ending. But at least they had seven years together. Too bad it couldn't have been longer, but Ron handled the misunderstanding very badly. I'll never figure out why.

Hi, Phyllis;
My husband and 'Ron' have become friends over the years. One night, after several drinks, 'Ron' confessed to thinking all women were only after a man's money back when he was young. That seems to be the only clue we've ever gotten as to the 'why.'
Thank you for staying with this saga, and I'm thankful for your reviews throughout the process. You've helped me with the errors in my writing, and allowed me to find my way.
