This is an entertaining limerick and i loved the picture. I read out loud more than once, the last line didn't flow for me with the other lines. No offense meant, just my opinion.
Good luck in the contest.

very cute but the second line has too many syllables, it has 9. I like it because it makes Halloween fun and not scary. The artwork is so very cute too.

    when - one syllable
    alive - two syllables
    played - one syllable
    on - one syllable
    xylophones - three syllables
total - eight syllables - right?

Actually no, with xylophones, I think it's actually 4. If you say it out loud, you'll see: x' y' lo' phones'
I still loved it, such fun to read.

This Halloween limerick, Skeleton Music, follows the beat of the limerick pretty close, and the humor of the situation is clear. Xylophone players are truly dedicated to the craft.

thanks, Bill. when I entered, there was only one skeleton in the limerick, but I could only find a picture of two, so had to change it on the spot.

I wonder if they played that oldie "Dry Bones." A fun limerick that made me chuckle. Interesting that these two were Latin. Had they once played in a mariachi band? Well-chosen rhymes.
