Sorry for your loss my friend. I was thinking of my friend that died of cancer a couple years back last night. They say the pain gets less with time but I don't believe them. There are days I long to hear her voice and have just one more conversation again. I know she's not in pain but I want to be selfish and say but I want her back. *Hugs*

I am sorry about your friend Katy. I like your thoughts in the poem. We are all reaching for that distant horizon. Some of us are closer to it than others but we move forward at the same rate. Well done Michael. Nancy

Time is funny isn't it? We think it's playing tricks and it's just moving right along. :))
I'm pleased you liked this. I guess as writers, it's our duty, yes? Thanks so much. Michael

She will or already knows how you feel about her, how you wrote this wonderful poem for her and let us here on FanStory know about her and her goodness.

life isn't always lovely
even when lovely
is finally sought
from the depths
of wrong

RIP

    Hi, Apky

Thanks so much for your kind words and your many wonderful reviews. I'm terrible at responding I know and as bad at reviewing and I'm sorry for that. I do try though. Hopefully things will settle down and I'll find some time. I do sneak by and read your great work though. Love it. mike

I guess everyone soars in their own way. The horizon shows the limits you cant reach for and some seem not to reach to far but seem to move others to soar. I like the metaphor of finally soaring at death with no pain to hobble you.

Anyone who is nice to everyone is someone of note. This is a well written ode to her.

Sorry for your loss.

Keep writing

Mike, I am so sorry you have lost another lovely friend. Your song brings tears to my eyes, bad recording or not, it's beautiful. The good die young, that is so true. I loved your poem too, I'm sure she heard your voice and read your words. Big hugs, my friend. Sandra xx

Mikey, my friend. I am so very sorry. This brought tears to my eyes, both the poem and hearing you sing this song which is one of my all-time favorites. You've lost two dear friends which I know is so very hard. I've lost three over the summer, one was extremely painful and I am still struggling with grief. Okay, now I am crying. Most of us are important in some way. I treasure all of my friends including those on Fanstory~Debbie

I know you're a woman with a huge heart, Debbie. It shows in your work. I so appreciate your kind words. Jeesh. These folks need to just stop doing this to us, yes? I agree, this place is a source of comfort. I always feel a warmth just hanging out here even if I'm just reading a bit and not even participating. Lots of good will. Thanks so much. mike

A very well-written heartfelt and sad poem. I am sorry for your loss. We never know when our time comes and we should live each day as if it is our last on earth. I love the song too.

What a terrific tribute to your friend Katy, Mav. I find the yellow is perfect to symbolize the brightness of her life, in contrast with the inevitable tugs of Earth.

I believe that where you wrote what will be sewn you meant sown but I could be wrong, as I rather enjoy that it draws forth a visual chord.

Lovely transition from that into carousel rides and a return to the beginning of where it all began.

The Rose is such a sad song in my opinion and your musical accompaniment is superb, even though I would prefer it sung a capella.

Exceptional in every way. :))

I did mean sewn, though I thought about "sown" after actually. But, yeah, threads and roots intertwining, etc.
Pleased you caught going back to the beginning. I'm glad that came across. The song was recorded by someone on a cassette player, so that's why it's such a poor recording. Sorry. I WILL figure out how to record SOON and do an a Capella version. Yes, Ange, I agree, that is the way.
You're always too kind, but WE will take it. Thanks so much.

I am sorry for your loss. I can tell that Katy meant a lot to you as well as to others. You gave her a great tribute with your heart-felt words & song. You will have memories of her forever. Those will help you in the future although right now you are still grieving her loss. Take care. Jan
