This reminded me of a poem about Vietnam I wrote recently called Brothers, your words convey much of what I tried to write.
An emotional, heartfelt offering which I feel may have read smoother if formatted into stanzas.

Quite a rant, Walter. I can understand the frustration of fighting in senseless wars - Though I never frought in a war, my dad and son have. Thankfully, they survived. If not, I'd be like you - I wouldn't be talking about freedom and sacrifice and all that blather. War IS so senseless - yet here we are - will it ever end?
