Anna's photos of your granddaughter are a wonderful accompaniment to your poems. She is getting so big now, exploring and discovering. Nicely written Nove Otto which I enjoyed reading. Marilyn

Thanks, Marilyn. I enjoyed reading your very kind comments! Yes, Teagan is growing up fast and promising to be quite a live wire! Best wishes, Tony

At our age, all kids are live wires. LOL!

I like the feel and flow of your words and the taking back to childhood that your poem evokes in the reader. Excellent poetic form that has a sense of whimsy and fun to it. Congrats on second place.

I won't look up the nove otto form specifics, because this poem deserves an excellent at any rate. I am confident that it adheres to the rules, and the artwork is exactly right.

that is just too cute. You have obviously watched a grandchild do that. Perhaps grandpa jumped in, too?
great poem, depicting the predictable magnetism of a puddle to a child - (reflections are s'posed to be messed up, aren't they?)
Perfect accompanying picture, too.
Fun read.

Loved this. CONGRATS on your 2nd place finish. This Nove-Otto is fun and truly captures the delight of children and their marvelous POF on puddles.

Exceptional
This work has reached the exceptional level

I am a bit behind.
Not usual for me to give six stars to a shorty, unless it reaches a mark of excellence in the departments that bind the poem. This is simply told but has an underlined meaning that even go far beyond the child, even though the child is in focus. Brilliant. The form didn't interfere with the projection of the poem...and so should be.
Well done, Tony.
My best wishes.

To be sure, "when life's a game it makes more sense", and it's a blessed man who has little people around to remind him not to take life too seriously, to be filled with the joy and wonder around him. That's what your charming poem says to me, Tony. :)) (Thank you for reminding me how "when all the world seems grey and dark" there's still joy to be found if we only look...)

Oh, this is lovely, Tony. A happy poem about children playing in puddles, and they do jump right in. How lovely to be so uninhibited. Life should be a game more often, I agree. LOL. Good luck in the Nove Otto competition, Giddy

You have been hanging around my first grade class, haven't you? This years class seem to thing all they need to do is play, which isn't a bad thing except we have a very rigorous curriculum. I wish we could spend the day having fun.

Thanks, Barbara. I have certainly looked in on quite a few first grade classes in my time, having been the deputy head of a Junior School for many years! I am in awe of those who teach at this level. Tailoring activities to the attention span of the children is no mean feat.

A very good poem with a youthful tone. I enjoyed reading this and you did well with matching these behaviours over puddles with the childlike innocence.
