Giddy,

I really like this series. Especially the last two poems. I think they are clever and appealing and will resonate with lots of people. Though I do, personally, think they fall more into the senryu category than the haiku one. I would really push you to try to get these (and others of yours) pubbed in the many Japanese short-form mags available online. If you need help or suggestions, please let me know. Good luck and thanks for sharing!

Hi Robyn, Thanks for these suggestions. Recently I have had a suite of nine haiku dedicated to the Australian aborigine accepted for publication by M Kei for Atlas Poetica. I've had a few cherita accepted by Ai Li and Larry Kimler too. But time is my problem. I think too my vision is failing. I agree the first haiku does have irony. If you have any suggestions for magazines, I would be very happy to except them and to take your advice, Robyn. Thanks again, Giddy

Hi Giddy, I've been a bit busy so a little late reviewing you haiku trio. I loved them all, but especially the second and the third. The second really appealed to me. I tried to write a haiku myself, but it just wouldn't come to me. I will try this week though. A great addition to the book. A hug from your friend Ulla:)))

Insects of all kinds scare me something awful especially bees. This poem flowed very well and the imagery was excellent. We forget sometimes we don't need a long poem to get our message across. Thank you for sharing

Hi, Giddy, I thought I'd stop by (and I promise to read the work sent to me by tomorrow).
I like the images in this a lot, and the personification, the most striking elements of the poem: the soft center of the daisy, being "ignored" by hardworking bees yet finding comfort in the presumably more relaxed fireflies. It comes together very well in a series of images and themes.
Thanks for posting this! All the Best,
Stacia

I'm guessing you are telling these observations from the firefly's point of view judging by your last verse. If so, excellent. It makes the three perspectives fit smoothly together and create a rounded vision of that parcel in time in the daisy's life. I like how action, creatures, feelings and environment are captured simply and crisply in your imagery. This is definitely best read as a whole and then reread several times to appreciate the quality of each haiku.

Love these! The last is my favorite, I never thought of fireflies as comfort, but light in the dark always is, isn't it? Beautiful! Blessings...

Hi Giddy
What a wonderful haiku.
Which describes these insects with such vivid imagination.
The dramatic word play is fantastic which marries with your imagery brilliantly.
and a great picture to accompany
Mitchell.

This speaks about the special instinct or fashion of adoption of pollination of ants in soft space, the peculiar but natural choice of selection to the ants; I liked.

Marvelous Haikus and awesome ability to write three gems in one posting. You really have this down to a true art form. I just love all three, can't pick a favorite this time.

Do you have fireflies in Queensland Giddy? A nicely composed haiku suite my friend, wouldn't have thought Ants could be possible pollinators, all the need to do is collect from from, spreading from one to another! Aha, methinks I got it! Well done, blessings, Roy

Yes Roy, I saw them as a child on Mount Burley south of the Gold Coast.I wondered if anyone would question the ant re-pollination. I looked it up and ants do pollinate some flowers, (probably not the Daisy, ssh,) but isn't it a great photo and fitted the purpose. Thanks Roy always great to read your reviews. Good wishes to you, Giddy
