well, you brought a lump to my throat.
I know how you feel. I sat by mine when he died - but we were much older. Your youth made it all the more tragic.
Your poem is truthfully and agonizingly expressed, and if I may say - beautifully written.
well done.

Thanks so much and the age does not lessen the pain much I am sure. Thanks for your empathy and lovely review.

I can actually feel this, every word, and I am so sorry for your loss. Thirty-four is WAY too young. This is a beautiful, heartfelt entry for this contest, blessings...

I'm so sorry that this happened. I think your poem is very well written, full of emotion and sad. My daughters fiancé got into a fatal car crash and held on for a few days before he died. It was heartbreaking to see how my daughter grieved. No one knows unless they go through it. Thanks for sharing.

A very well-written poem. It is devastating to see someone you love dying in front of you and no one is able to help our loved one. To be alone with him for a moment is precious even if he remains quiet.

A very emotional poem that moves along smoothly. Must have been a very difficult situation to live through. You have described it very well and it is easy to read the drama as you went through this trauma. Nice ending to it with only the word - quiet. Good luck to you. Blessings, Carol

This poem brought a tear to my eye, I am so sorry for your loss, so young to die. The silence is so hard to take, I know that silence when my husband died. I could identify with your words, so very sad. The last stanza really resonated with me. Love Dolly x

What a sad story, it brought tears to my eyes. We are never prepared when a loved one passes. I liked. Thank you for sharing your story and best wishes in the contest

This is a brilliant piece of writing that describes the tragedy of a young life lost in clear and vivid words. We are with the young wife as her husband slips away from her even as she watches over him in the ambulance. As the priest administers The Last Rites she hurls her anger out at the world, but realizes they are right. He has gone and so she accepts it with the storm in her heart slowly becoming still --and quiet. Well done cheers Cass

This is an incredibly written poem. I am so sorry for your loss. I am so sorry for all you had to go through, but I think the fact that you experienced this personally, truly helped you perfect this poem. The picture is the final touch to this emotionally wrought poem. Good luck in the contest , although I don't think you will need it.

Oh, thanks so much for your kindness and for the wonderful green star. I had to pick that pic as the man looks a little like my husband. (I could only wish I looked like the girl-Ha, but I did have long dark hair at the time.) Many greys peeping through now, but still some moments too well remembered.
