Well, she sounds like a real witch. Spew's a great work. Good narrative tone kept throughout the poem. Good visual imagery. Creative. Opinionated. Fun. Nice work. Good luck in the contest :)

Hi Alicia. Thank you for your terrific review and rating. I guess the witch is me. I am opinionated, but then ~ maybe we all are in one way or another. I loved the image of this sassy vintage woman who looks like she's got attitude. Marilyn

You sound pretty perfect to me Marilyn, a wonderful poem that flows beautifully, loved the irony of the last stanza which is sublime.
Loved it

Marilyn, this is a fun dig at yourself. I don't believe this flaw in you but I enjoyed reading your upbeat entry for the 'I Am Not Perfect' contest. Good luck! ~DD

Hi DD. Thank you for your nice review. Isn't it wonderful to be close (ahem) to perfect? I had fun writing this one and love the image of the sassy vintage woman. Marilyn

Nice write Marilyn Nice near rhyming. It works perfect. Just one thing if I be bold to suggest. The line, while others haven't got a clue. suggest

There is one flaw I'll share with you ~
opinions that I spew.
Mine are true; views to mull and chew,
while others haven't a clue.

I think it reads better

Aha!!! Opinionated are we? Me too. I have an opinion on everything, and I'm always right too, ha ha. Love this entry!! Good luck, blessings...

Hi Judy. YES! LOL! I have opinions on everything. I think most people do. The trick is to not punch each other in the nose because of differences ~ although some come pretty close to doing just that. At least we know we're standing up and being counted for something. Thank you so much for your fun review. Marilyn

Hahahahaha! What is that saying about no conceit in your family...?

Your faults are few,
it's plain to see,
but Dear you can't
compare to me.

:))))))))))))
(Love your poem - good luck.)

I agree. Not recognizing our own faults is the biggest one of all. Thank you for your simpatico review.

Mystery Poet,

This reads well with some insight into you as a writer. I really like 'spewing your views to give readers some things to mull over while they don't have a clue. That is perfectly worded. Great job on the rhyming. Your lines flow smoothly with a great message. Best wishes in the contest. Janny

Hi Janny. Thank you for your terrific review of my tongue-in-cheek poem. I loved the image I found after I wrote the poem. That lady is full of attitude and makes me smile.

This is great! I wish I had a sixer left. Yes, at least you have opinions! :) I love the picture, and I love your poem!! She's not perfect and she knows it, but she's happy the way that she is!

This is so very well written. I especially love "their disapproval nags and gnaws, no peace to soothe or salve". A very strong closing that I thought was very clever! Terrific job on this contest entry! Best wishes for the contest. ~ ~ Connie

Hi Connie. Thank you for your fine review and comments. I had such fun writing this. AND, it is very true. I am opinionated but we're each entitled to that privilege. The trick is to be accepting of opposing opinions. I loved the picture of that cute sassy vintage woman. Marilyn

Flawless! A fine poem by that finest of all poets, Anonymous! I am suspicious though when someone digs deep but finds nothing. Perhaps you're digging in the wrong place! LOL

Hi Tony. Thank you for the nice review. She did find plenty, but chose opinionated as the primary one. I think that fits the bill perfectly and, I must add ~ aren't we all? And, we think ours is the only one there is. Marilyn

I enjoyed your poem very much. I liked the words you used and your beautifully constructed phrases. It flowed nicely off the tongue.
Good luck with your future writing.
