Brett MW, thought I'd pop in and see what's happening. Glad I did - I totally get this little 5-7-5 writing prompt. One either needs to work hard to get the funny money or use hard earned honest money to get a leg up the posting pole.

My purpose for writing it was to once again proclaim what so many others have said, and continue to tell me in their reviews, and that is for many FanStorians obtaining the Funny Money is much more important to them than writing a good review.

I hear you for sure. I always try my best to be honest. If it is beyond repair or I think my review will fall on deaf ears I move on and don't review - time is funny money but I know when to not waste my time. Some just can't be saved but I do get frustrated when I read reviews that are full of air and a 'copy and paste' to get to the required line for a pay off. At least try and make the dodgy review look a little bit read and considered.

My purpose for writing it was to once again, as so many others have stated previously, present the fact that for many FanStorians easily obtaining the Funny Money is much more important than writing a good review.

The point I was trying to make is one that several others have stated before me, and that is for some FanStorians, collecting the Funny Money is more important than writing a good review.

I enjoyed reading your 5-7-5 poem "Lamenting Reviews". All your lines and syllables were correct. (I know because I counted them). I guess this one way to fill in time - though I must admit I enjoy reading other members poems. Some are quite humorous.

I don't think this is true, but it is well-written and the syllable count is right (not true in every entry).
Of course we review so we can promote our work. That's why we're here. But I tell the truth. I know many people do not, but we can't paint everyone with the same broad brush.

It is definitely true.
For many FanStorians easily picking up the Funny Money is much more important than penning a good review.
Unfortunately, that is one of the biggest complaints many members have with the site.
Another is members who get all bent out of shape if they receive anything but a positive review.
However, that is a topic for another day.

Cleverly written--but not my experience. I find that when I ask for constructive suggestions/feedback, I always get thoughtful responses. However, I do find that most of the people I review expect only positive feedback. So I guess, it's a mixed bag. Fan Story reviews can be an extraordinary resource if one wants to grow in the craft. Loved the pix! Caroline

Only receiving positive feedback is another issue with reviews on this site as you stated.
