Lovely alliteration in each line of this Haiku really does make an impact. Personally I think that the one that benefits most from the power of the prayer is the one praying, and if it helps, why not.

I just noticed the club members curvaceous list and for a brief moment was a snake in a basket weaving to the tune of a flute. It is sort of a Rorschach test.

Hi Deano,
I enjoyed your poem, and the presentation as well. I'm not sure if prayer is the defeater of death though. The only One who ever defeated death was Jesus, as far as I understand it. But, sure enough, there is tremendous power in prayer, and it comes straight from God. People don't realize just how powerful prayer is, or there would be a lot more calling on God for help.
I might suggest, to go along with the artwork too,
(the power of prayer
is a formidable force -
growls the Grim Reaper"
I should think that prayer halts him in his tracks, a nice idea.
Lots of great alliteration in your poem, by the way! Every line, in fact.

In 1 Corinthians 15: 55-57, the Bible says:
"55 O death, where is thy sting? O grave, where is thy victory?

56 The sting of death is sin; and the strength of sin is the law.

57 But thanks be to God, which giveth us the victory through our Lord Jesus Christ.

Hence, I am referring to an eternal spiritual death here, not the death of the body.

This is prayer. Defeater of death! What a ghoulish presentation. The dark-side of prayer. Nice usage of f consonant alliteration. That is one creepy mage there... you take the flip side of prayer. Scared straight!

I usually go to bed very early and wake up around 2:00 to 3:00 am, Boo.
A farm boy's work is never done, ya know?
Got some soybeans to take care of today, and the chickens need fed, watered, and their eggs collected, of course.
I hate to hear about your accident. I hope everything's on the mend.
