Haha, I love your description of waking up, it's so fun to read. I understand why he is nervous about Sheba but as she told him already she didn't eat him when she had the chance so he should just relax. :) Ah, Piper sure knows how to start difficult topics at the worst possible time. Finally, some answers are coming, cool.

Thank you for the comments regarding g waking. Yes, Piper is still a bit nervous about Sheba. I guess waking up next to the wolf that didn't eat you in your sleep, but is salivating over the cooking food could be a bit unnerving. Maybe when he's more awake he'll relax. Thanks for the great analysis.

Imaginative, well written, and easy to follow even though this is the first I've read of your book. I don't see anything that needs to be corrected. Love the wolf, and the way you are introducing the tearing people apart story. Well done!

Piper is impressed with Redd Lief's surprising strength and sharp talons when he skinned a rabbit with bare hands. To be honest, Piper is a little afraid of him too. Redd Lief does not want Sheba to tell too much, perhaps if she did, Piper would become too fearful.
This is well-written chapter presents an interesting story about Faes.

the people and what has happened, Debi.
-I like how you begin with Piper dreaming
about playing his flute.
-I am very glad Rupert is okay and healing well;
it will be nice to have him back in the story.
-Summerstorm is back and gives us the update
and a few other things as he prepares dinner.
-That causes Piper to inquire about what Burkehart
had told him about the Fae; I'm sure Summerstorm
was glad hear that mentioned!
-The ending is good, and leaves Piper and the reader
wondering what more there is to tell.

get a feel for Piper's love of music. Since the story revolves
around Piper's unusual musical gift, this reads very well
Then his sense of smell brings him back to the reality of his situation
The exchange between Redd-Leif, Sheba and Piper is nicely done
as we begin to learn a bit about elves and Redd-Leif in particular
An excellent touch at the end with Piper reaching for his flute

I haven't read any of this before but was immediately struck by the easy conversation between Piper and the Fae, which gives substance to these mythical and mysterious people. Splendid scene of skinning the rabbit to illustrate the power of faerie and a hint at the end that, with greater knowledge, Piper may lose something of his fear and have it replaced by understanding. The telling of tales that tread these borders of fairyland is a noble art. They contain much wisdom, as your profile quote from Einstein suggests.

I really liked this, except for the skinning of the rabbit -- I fast forwarded my reading. If I had to kill my own meat, think I'd be a vegetarian. LOL!
I found my story, 'Piper', I'll put it in after I finish with 'Southington Stabber.' I'll change the title.
