I didn't realize how a lotus grew. It does seem to be a strong encouragement to fight through your problems to get through to the other side.

I love this and it could refer to a woman's journey, as well...I visited a place similar to the photo near my home...In this place, the forest was quiet...as if in prayer...serenity...no sound but falling water and pool's ripple...beautiful poem..

Excellent ABC entry, Sanku.
You know, each color of the lily has certain meaning. White lily symbolizes purity, daylily coquetry, while the tiger lily symbolizes majesty and wealth.
Known to man for thousands of years, the bulb of the Madonna lily, one of the more popular species of lilies out of hundreds, was once cultivated to make a medicinal ointment and was popular with the Greeks and Romans for both its medicinal properties, as well as its decorative beauty.
The name lily comes from the Greek word 'leiron' which referred to the white Madonna lily that is believed to have grown out of the milk of the goddess Hera.
Lilies are nowadays given as a 30th wedding anniversary flower.
Neither of my two marriages ever made it that far.
Nicely done, best of luck!
